Attack on Ekweremadu: A Sacrilege, Very Reprehensible....Abaribe

Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has described as reprehensible and utterly sacrilegious the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu by some persons claiming to be members of IPOB in Nuremberg, Germany.

Abaribe not only condemned the despicable act but said it smacks of utter ignorance of the prevailing situation at home with regards to what the leaders are doing in the circumstance. " It is a brazen show of ingratitude to a man who has been at the forefront in the struggle for all that is good for the Igbo race".
In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the Minority leader said he and the entire minority caucus in the Senate are appalled on the very nauseating attack on the revered Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu for no reason whatsoever. "We condemn it", Abaribe said.
Senator Ekweremadu he said has given his all in standing for the Igbo race, particularly when "we stuck out our neck to arrange and stand for surety for the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
"Obviously this is not how to repay a man, an outstanding leader of men, an unpretentious Igbo leader who has given his all even going as far as deploying his means to arrange for the bail of Nnamdi Kanu, not minding the repercussions to his illustrious political career.
"It is unfortunate. The perpetrators of the attack should know that as Igbos, we respect elders and reverence our leaders. The unwarranted attack is not the character of the Igbo. This is un-Igbo. It is most worrisome and even inconceivable that the attackers will choose an auspicious occasion where our people are celebrating and showcasing our rich culture to exhibit such unbecoming and condemnable conduct in the name of agitation.
"No, that was not agitation, no right-thinking human will identify with such behavior. Yes, Nigeria is going through a horrendous phase, which is a fault line that her leaders, particularly we the Igbo leaders are engaging others to find a lasting solution to.
"Resorting to mob mentality and venting the spleen on our leaders rather creates a vacuum that will leave our people helpless and confused in the circumstance", he said.
Senator Abaribe added that there are rules of engagement in the country when things go awry and that is the way we should go at all times until we reach an acceptable national consensus in which Senator Ekweremadu will always play a major role.
    Remember the popular Igbo saying...
However, he appealed to Senator Ekweremadu not to be discouraged in any way, but rather be stoic and take it in its stride as the price often paid in leadership.

End Of The Road, As America Breaks Silence On El-Zakzaky, Releases Emergency Statement

The United States of America, USA, has described as baseless, the allegation raised by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, that it colluded with the Federal Government to disrupt the treatment of their Leader, in India.

Recall, that the IMN leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, travelled to India to receive medical care, as ordered by a Kaduna High Court.
However, he has since returned to Nigeria without receiving any medical treatment, following what the Federal Government described as antics by the IMN Leader, to embarrass the nation.
The group has quoted a source as saying that before Sheikh Zakzaky’s arrival at New Delhi’s Madental Hospital, Officials from the American Embassy in India, had “threatened” the hospital’s management not to admit the Clergyman.
“Even as the Doctors were enthusiastically waiting to receive the Sheikh to save his life, the American Secret Agents have threatened the hospital Officials not to go ahead to treat the Sheikh at the hospital”, the group claimed.
Meanwhile, the American Embassy has dismissed the claim, saying that, it has no comment on the baseless allegations.
The Embassy in a response to the allegation raised by the group stated that the US holds highly human rights and fundamental freedoms of all citizens.
“The Embassy of the United States to Nigeria has no comment on these baseless allegations. We will state that promoting, protecting, and advancing human rights and fundamental freedoms, continue to be a top priority for the United States. The right to exercise one’s freedom of thought, conscience, and religion, is a universal human right and bedrock American principle”, the Embassy stated.

Attack on Ekweremadu an insult to Igbos, Nigeria – Omo-Agege

The Deputy President of the Senate Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has condemned the attack on his predecessor Sen. Ike Ekwerenmadu, describing it as an affront against the Igbos and Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Yomi Odunuga, the DSP said the attack was not ‘only dastardly exportation of irrationality but an aggressive international affront against the image of Igbos and Nigeria’.

NAN reports that the former Deputy President of the Senate, Ekweremadu was on Saturday attacked by members of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in Nuremberg, Germany.

Reacting further to the attack, Omo-Agege expressed shock over the undeserved assault and called on law enforcement agencies in Germany to investigate and bring to book all those involved in the vicious attack.

“Senator Ekweremadu honored the invitation of patriotic Igbos in Germany who wanted him to deliver a keynote address at the event organized to commemorate the New Yam Festival.

“But some aggressively discourteous elements hijacked the effort to perpetrate a disgraceful assault that seeks to deepen the portrayal of members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) as enemies of democratic norms and values.

“What they did is not only a violent assault against the good image of the Igbo race across the world but an aggressive attack against the traditional norms of a people known to be hardworking and respectful of meaningful contributions by leaders such as Senator Ekweremadu.

“Such disappointing physical abuse also grossly disregards Senator Ekweremadu’s democratic antecedents and his longstanding commitment to the cause of his people. But, as he has said out of the usual largeness of his forgiving heart, these people know not what they do.

“Such criminal attack, along with other anti-social attempts to accuse, condemn and lynch anyone remains utterly condemnable and illegal, notwithstanding whether it takes place on Nigerian or foreign soil as it is the easiest invitation to anomie,” Senator Omo-Agege stated.

Nnamdi Kanu offers N1m reward for overseas itinerary of Southeast Govs, Igbo leaders

Leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has offered N1m reward for credible information on the overseas travel itinerary of Igbo leaders, especially Governors from the zone.

Kanu announced this in a live broadcast on the rogue radio station, Radio Biafra on Sunday night.
He was speaking on the recent attack by some of his members on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany and the spare of killings and kidnappings in the southeast.
He said a member of the group has made the money available for credible information anytime Governors of the Southeast and other leaders from the zone are traveling.
“So if you are working in any Government House in Southeast and you know which city in the world the governors is going to be, inform us so hat we will mobilize for him and you will be rewarded with N1m,” he declared.
In the 87- minute broadcast, Kanu said the grudge of the group with the governors is that they proscribed the group.
“They and not the Federal Government of Nigerian proacribed IPOB.
“They said they proscribed IPOB to douse rising tension in the region. What caused the tension, because the Milliary raided my house in Umuahia,” Kanu said.
He also accused them of secretly approving the RUGA settlement in the Southeast.
On the attack on former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekeremadu, the IPOB leader said the the senator connived with the governors to proscribed his group.
“They also brought the Army to raid my House in Umuahia. How many times has he spoken against the killings and kidnappings happening in his own state?
“He went to celebrate New Yam Festival in Germany when his people are being killed and our women being raped. Where did they get the new Yam because there is none in Igboland since all the farmlands have been destroyed by herdmen”.
The IPOB Leader also accused Ekweremadu of embezzling money budgeted for construction of Enugu-Port-Hacourt Expressway by former President Goodluck Jonathan administration.
The Nation could not independently verify his accusations against Mr Ekweremadu.
Apart from the Governors, Mr Kanu listed others on the group’s overseas watchlist to include Ohaneze Ndigbo President-General, Nnia Nwodo and Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.
On Nwodo, Kanu accused him of accusing Igbo youths of carrying out the recent killings, kidnappings and other criminal activities in the Southeast especially in Enugu State.
For Buratai, Kanu said the group will never forgive him for his role in various killings and atrocities allegedly committed by the Military in the southeast
He warned them to steer clear of any foreign country for their own good.
“We have nominated 5 persons each in every country or the world who are ready to be arrested and be jailed for this purpose. Many of us have been killed so what is there in going to jail”, he said.
He praised the outspokenness of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and former Aviation Minister Femi Fani- Kayode.
“We campaigned for Abaribe’s re-election because he always spoke the truth every time about what is happening in the country and today he is the highest political office holder in Igboland”
“Fani Kayode is not an Igbo man but he always stands for the truth and so we have enormous respect for him”.
Mr Kanu also claimed that the Milliary is beginning another Operation Python Dance in the Southeast tomorrow (Monday) in the SouthEast which is targeted at his group.

Full Details Of How Nigeria "Superstar Tech Entrepreneur" And Abuja Big Boy "Invictus Obi" Was Busted By FBI

    Crime doesn't pay!
Yes, many a Nigerian billionaire got their validation from the American publication, FORBES, which started the rating trend that has now become the benchmark, from an African perspective, to know who a billionaire is or not.
It is, for many Nigerian money-men, a bragging right to be rated by Forbes, but the case may no longer be the same with the arrest of Obinwanne Okeke fondly called InvictusObi, and the reality that Forbes may have become or been compromised all along.
In a society bereft of role models, Obiwanne Okeke was, until as you read, the quintessential young, wealthy and celebrated businessman, with an expansive fandom of fawning youth and an enthusiastic media gleefully lapping up all stories about him.
At 31, Obinwanne was the poster boy of grass to grace stories; the boy who rose from nothing to something. Many even likened him to the rose that grew out of concrete because he was the 17th child of a polygamous father who died when Obinwanne was 16. Things became difficult for the young man, necessitating his moving from one relative to another. He later moved to Australia to study where he said he "did all kinds of jobs just to survive." There is no context whatsoever to how he got the chance to travel to Australia if he ever did.
Obinwanne later founded the Invictus Group of Companies, an investment conglomerate dealing in construction, agriculture, oil and gas, renewable energy, telecoms, and real estate. In 2017, Invictus Group was named as Africa's Most Innovative Investment Company of the Year by African Brand Congress. The same year, he has nominated in the Young African Business Leader (West Africa) category for the All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA). In 2018, he was nominated amongst 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians by Avance Media.
But he became a continental sensation of a sort in 2016 when he was named in Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 list and was featured in the magazine's June cover. In the prologue to the article, the magazine wrote, "FORBES AFRICA spent months looking for the best this continent has to offer. Research coupled with nominations from our readers brought the number to 250 potential Under 30s. We worked for weeks, verifying and investigating, to whittle it down. We favored entrepreneurs with fresh ideas and took into account their business size, location, potential, struggles, and determination.
A panel of judges then debated the final 30." In the end, the influential American magazine said Okeke was primus inter pares among 600 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents and change agents in 20 different sectors that made the list. It went on to use his picture on the cover of that particular edition.
Alas, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has revealed that Obinwanne is nothing more than a fraudster.
In a painstaking investigation led by Special Agent Marshall Ward of the FBI, Obinwanne was fingered and subsequently arrested for wire fraud valued at over $12m. According to the investigation, "In June 2018, Unatrac Holding Limited, the export sales office for Caterpillar heavy industrial and farm equipment, headquartered in the United Kingdom, contacted the FBI. They reported that Unatrac had been victimized through an email compromise, which ultimately resulted in fraudulent wire transfers totaling nearly 11million US Dollars. After reviewing the documentation provided by the representatives, the FBI opened an investigation in July 2018." The FBI discovered that after capturing the legitimate credentials of Unatrac's Chief Financial Officer, the accused was able to log in and access the CFO's entire Office365 account, which included all of his emails and various digital files, the logs indicated that between April 6 and April 20, 2018, the intruder accessed the CFO's account 464 times, mostly from Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from Nigeria.
"With full access to the account, the intruder sent fraudulent wire transfer requests from the CFO's email account to members of Unatrac's internal financial team. The intruder also attached fake invoices to the emails to enhance the credibility of the requests," the investigator stated. The investigation, painstaking and far-reaching, lasted more than a year during which Obinwanne emerged as the principal culprit and has since been arrested while on his regular visit to the United States.

Woman pours hot water on her husband for not picking her from church

A Zimbabwean man has been left badly scalded after being poured hot water by his wife Alice Chigwida, for coming home late and failing to pick her from St Mary’s Cathedral on Sunday, August 11.

Mr. Davies Chitagu reportedly returned home around 10 pm and they had an argument about him not picking her up from church. He was reportedly sleeping when his wife stormed the room he was in and emptied a bucket of hot water on him. A family member told Chronicle that the lady ignored her husband’s plea while pouring the hot water on him.
“WHEN SHE FEARED THAT HE WOULD DIE ON THEIR MATRIMONIAL BED, SHE HELPED HIM INTO THEIR CAR AND WENT TO DUMP HIM AT A SURGERY IN THE CITY BEFORE TELLING HIS RELATIVES THAT HE WAS IN HOSPITAL,” THE FAMILY SOURCE SAID.
It was learned that a police report had to be made before Mr. Chitagu could be treated. Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and he said an investigation has already been launched.
“I CAN CONFIRM THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH A CASE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WHERE A WOMAN SCALDED HER HUSBAND WITH BOILING WATER FOLLOWING A DOMESTIC DISPUTE. FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE MATTER ARE UNDERWAY,” SAID INSPECTOR NCUBE.
Mr. Chitagu has since been discharged from the hospital but still has bandages on almost all parts of his body.

Forbes-rated young Nigerian billionaire, Obinwanne Okeke arrested by FBI for $12 billion (N4.3bn) fraud

A Forbes-rated young Nigerian billionaire and CEO of Invictus Group, Obinwanne Okeke has been arrested by America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over a $12 billion (N4.3bn) fraud.
He was arrested last week on the last day of his trip to the United States for allegedly defrauding top American companies of huge sums. Notably, he allegedly scammed $12m from a steel company by hacking into an executive’s office365 account and sending an email with a fake invoice to the purchasing department. His arrest came after Special Agent Marshall Ward of the FBI and the team he heads opened up an investigation in July 2018, following a petition by Unatrac Holding Limited.
Before his arrest, Obinwanne Okeke was a celebrated businessman who had a ‘grass to grace’ story on Forbes. The arrested suspect is said to be the 17th child of a polygamous father who died when he was 16, and he reportedly moved from one relative to another before moving Australia where he “did all kinds of jobs just to survive.” He became a viral sensation after he got featured in ‘Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30’ list in 2016.
It is not clear how he made the list of Forbes’ 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2018, it should, however, be noted that he founded the Invictus Group of Companies, an investment conglomerate dealing in construction, agriculture, oil and gas, renewable energy, telecoms, and real estate. Invictus Group operates in three African countries, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia. His company was named as Africa’s Most Innovative Investment Company of the Year by African Brand Congress in 2017.
Obi recently got married, had a baby last month and got listed among 100 Most Influential Young Africans in 2018 alongside Davido, Falz, Ahmed Musa. He was also nominated for the All African Business Leaders Award for Young Business Leader (West Africa) in 2018. The AABLA Award is the most prestigious award for African businessmen/entrepreneurs.
The young Nigerian who accepted an offer to be a Contributor for Forbes Magazine and published his first essay in May 2017, has however been arrested by the FBI for allegedly being a fraudster which is popularly known as ‘yahoo-yahoo’ in Nigeria.

Woman bites off her husband’s lip In Kenya

A lady has bitten off the lower lip of her husband during a domestic disagreement in Kenya.
According to the 34-year-old husband, Benson Onsongo, the quarrel began when his 27-year-old wife informed him that she wanted to go visit her parents in Kisii County.
He said the wife asked him for money to travel to their home for an event but he had none. This angered her and she threatened to commit suicide.
Mr. Onsongo added that, on Monday evening, while he was at work, he was informed that the woman was about to end her life by jumping into a nearby river.
He stated that he rushed to the scene and talked her out of it, but on their way back home, she turned and bit off his lower lip before also biting his hand and stomach.
Mr Onsongo claimed his wife of four years has been subjecting him and their four children to violence.
“I picked up my lip from the ground and put it in a polythene bag, hoping that it would be reattached at the hospital but I have been told it is not possible. This is so inhumane... I cannot imagine that the woman I loved could do such a thing to me,” he added.

New Jersey siblings have won the right to marry after a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States.

According to local reporters, in a 5-to-4 ruling, five judges unanimously granted the appeal by James Banes, 41, and Victoria Banes, 38, to get married after a ten-year-long battle in court.

The over-joyed pair said they did it for the millions of Americans who have consensual incestuous relationships and are living in fear, hence, blasted the Government for wasting taxpayers’ money fighting their challenge for ten years.
“Incest has been practiced by humans since the dawn of time. If Adam and Eve hadn’t done it, the human race would not be here today.” James Banes told local reporters after his historic victory.

The Banes family lawyer, Julianne Grey, argued that criminalizing incestuous marriage while first-cousin marriage was legal in the state of New Jersey, was a nonsensical and discriminatory measure.
The couple that was facing up to 15 years in jail said that they were now planning to start a large family and enjoy their newly found freedom.
Previously, New Jersey state, laws only allowed first-cousin marriages but since the landmark ruling, New Jersey is now the only state in the country or the world to allow incestuous marriages.

Nigerian Drug Dealer Precious Chineme, Puts Two Australian Women In Jail

A Nigerian Precious Chineme Nwoko, who is a member of an international drug syndicate is currently spending 27 years in jail in Cambodia.

Precious was sentenced as an attempt by him to get a reprieve failed. This is not the end of the story.
It was learned that two Australian women he recruited online as mules via a romance scam are cursing the day they fell in love with him after they were arrested, tried and jailed for carrying drugs.
They have related their stories in a documentary by ABC Australia.
An Australian mother has issued a desperate warning to other women after traveling to Cambodia on the promise of love, before being used as a drug mule
Yoshe Taylor, a 47-year-old single mother, and school teacher met South African businessman ‘Precious’ through the dating app called Tagged.

According to her, he was caring and sweet, with a buff gym body and a broad smile.
Battling depression and struggling to keep up with mortgage repayments, her internet boyfriend offered Ms. Taylor the opportunity to fly to Cambodia to meet him, which she saw as the perfect escape. Instead, she ended up spending six years in one of Cambodia’s worst prisons, having falling victim to her fraudster boyfriend, who had her laugage from Australia to Cambodia stuffed up with hard drugs being a member of a huge international drug syndicate.
She said, ‘I had been all by myself for a long time, four years, just me and the kids,’ she said.
‘I was talking to him for a long time; I thought I got to know him and he seemed very nice.’
Ms Taylor would often stay up late at night exchanging messages with Precious.
He would tell her that when it came to love it was ‘her or nothing’, while also saying he worried about whether she was sleeping or eating well.
‘You have a busy day in the morning,’ Ms Taylor’s lover told her.
But Precious was not a 43-year-old businessman from South Africa like he claimed.
In reality, he was a 24-year-old Nigerian whose name was Precious Chineme Nwoko.
Ms Taylor, when she was found guilty of drug smuggling, was sentenced to 23 years in prison. But Ms Taylor wasn’t the only Australian woman being targeted by Precious, as he also had a Melbourne woman in his sights.
Another woman Kay Smith had also met the African scam artist over a dating app and immediately showed off his softer side, telling her about the orphanage where he volunteered.
‘The kids here are asking when I will bring my wife too. They are crying to see you. He told her.
Eventually, having gained Ms. Smith’s trust, he also asked her to travel to Cambodia to visit him. This time, Precious paid for her flights, passport, and accommodation, but said the trip had to be limited to only four days as he had a business to attend to overseas.
'I have petrified the whole journey,’ Ms. Smith said of her trip but the anxiety subsided when he turned up at the airport to collect her as promised.
According to her, that night they went out for dinner and he asked her to marry him, which she said yes to.
