Married Man Caught Defiling 14-Year-Old Girl Inside Container In Lagos
A 44-year old married man, Olamide Joseph, has landed in trouble after he allegedly took a 14-year old girl into a container by the roadside in Lagos, engaged her in a sex romp and was eventually caught.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Taiwo Estate, Iponri area of Lagos, where they reside.
The 14-year-old victim alleged that the suspect, Joseph, confused her with words of mouth, took her inside the container and engaged her in sex romp.
However, while the romp was going on late in the evening, the Police patrol team who saw them there, arrested him and took him to the station. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for further investigation; there the Police found him culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years imprisonment.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Christopher John, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because the case involved a minor.
Rivers State Residents laments over the bad state of their roads
Rivers State residents have been asking if the Governor, popularly known as Mr. Project, is still living in the state. This is due to the overwhelming poor state of roads across the state.
Major parts of the federal and state roads are bad, thereby increasing the pains and suffering of motorists and other road users.
Some of the affected areas include Oyigbo (Porthacourt -Aba Road), Ada George road by Location junction, Rumuolumeni, Ikwere road by Market junction, East-West road by Nkpolu, Rukpoku by BigTreat, Rumukwurusi by Sobaz, Rumuodara by Omega House and D/Line by Okija road, among others.
The bad portion of the roads has forced many motorists, especially those plying the notorious Nkpolu and Location junctions, to abandon the route for alternative ways to their destination, which consumes extra time and money.
For example, a trip from Rumuokoro to Choba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, which was N100 now goes for between N200 to N300 for taxis using alternative routes while others.
The two-lane of Nkpolu junction has completely collapsed and commercial motorists are having a field day due to the failed road.
Residents face similar challenges in other bad roads across the State. Some car owners prefer to use public transport due to bad roads and traffic gridlocks. The situation, it was observed has slowed business in the state capital.
Criminals take advantage of the bad portion of the road to rob and kidnap residents, especially between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the State Ministry of Works has announced that work would commence at the bad Location junction by Mgbuoba/Ada George Road tomorrow. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Rivers State, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter, in a statement, informed the public that the axis of the road would be closed to traffic from August 8 till August 10, due to the commencement of rehabilitation work on the road.
He urged commuters and other roads users to use the alternative lane pending when the road is fixed. However, there is no news yet about moves to repair other collapsed roads across the state.
Residents are calling on Governor, Nyesom Wike, also known as Mr Project and the Federal Government to come to their aid.
AAUA RAPE: Rapist Soldier dismissed by the Nigeria Army, Hands Over To Police
The Nigeria Army, on Saturday, said it has dismissed an officer accused of raping a student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State at a military checkpoint, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that the Army also said it had handed over the suspect to the Ondo State Police Command for prosecution.
The victim, a 300-level student of the Department of Religious and African Studies, was allegedly gang-raped by soldiers attached to 32 Artillery Brigade, inside a shed at the checkpoint, while the student was returning from school.
But the military said the earlier report was false, revealing that the student was raped by one of the soldiers, according to its investigations.
Igbere TV recalls that the Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Brig. Gen. Zakari Abubakar, had earlier promised to transfer the case to the police after the accused soldier must have been sacked and the investigation concluded.
He had since confirmed that the culprit, Lance Corporal Adelola, had been tried and sacked before he was formally handed over to the police.
“He has been sacked from service and he has been transferred to the police for prosecution. The army does not tolerate indiscipline”, he said.
The Ondo State Police Spokesman, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the development, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
”I can confirm to you that the (former) soldier has been handed over to us, we will soon charge him to court,” Joseph said.
‘I Don’t have Any Bank Account’ – Prophet TB Joshua
Leader and founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T. B. Joshua has declared that he does not operate any bank account.
Concise News reports that TB Joshua in an interview with The Maravi Post recently, says because he is more concerned about touching lives, he doesn’t keep the money.
“This is the problem the country has brought to us; that is what we are talking about.
“Here we have a foundation for the youths, a football club. There are about 4000 of them that come from across the country, and we have a bus for them.
“We are also involved with the destitute in Oko-Baba, you saw the buses were given to them and how they are being taken care of and we are giving them scholarships,” the influential televangelist explains.
He continues: “We have people in Leeds University in London, which is one of the best universities in the world. There are also the widows, the physically challenged – and we have a warehouse where we keep the rice which we give to these people.
“Each trailer is N5million and we have about four trailers. There are also the aged people – we look for them and take care of them, even the ones that are sick. Of course, you know that to run a football club costs a lot of money.
“Even the PHCN where they train, we paid heavily to secure it. These are some of the challenges we are facing. So when you now talk about the issue of tax, does it means that we will withdraw all these and use it to pay tax?
“We are doing more than paying tax. I don’t operate any bank account, not to talk of keeping money here.
“These people are my bank account. I believe so much in this so that in the nearest future, people can stand and say, ‘I am now this through the grace of God in the life of TB Joshua’”
