Peace Mass Transit Appreciates Afikpo Passengers with Enticing Edifice
Travelers to, and from Afikpo, the second biggest urban city in Ebonyi State have been savoring the refreshing ambiance of the remodeled Peace Mass Transit (PMT) depot in the historic town.
The beautiful edifice, located on 7 Ngodo Road, Amangbala, is a befitting upgrade on the original structure. It was apparently executed to perfect specification in line with management-ordered improvement on all PMT depots across the country.
Afikpo is second only to Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, in landmass and development, and situated on a hill on the southern flank. It is the main gateway for other important neighboring towns like Uwanna hosts of the Federal Polytechnic, and Amasiri.
Even though the original PMT structure In Afikpo ranked among the best in the neighborhood, management still felt the need to upgrade it to an even more enticing edifice, to adequately reflect the new face of PMT as a service-driven concern.
The environment is cool and inviting with the new trade-mark PMT travelers’ lounge, fitted with a flat-screen television on a full bouquet broadcast cable.
Okpani Nwosu, an excited PMT passenger confessed his love for the new-look office. “What is worth doing is worth doing well”, he quipped. “Everybody needs good stuff”.
Another passenger, who preferred anonymity, praised PMT for giving attention to even small details, “I think I like this”. She confessed.
Executive Director of operations, Ifeanyi Enete, reiterated management’s resolve to upgrade most, if not all PMT offices across the country.
“We are constrained by finance, owing to dwindling resources, but we are bending over backward, to make our environments conducive to our passengers,” he said.
“Our first priority is safety; second is passenger comfort”, he stated.
PMT has over 68 depots across the country with a fleet of over 2,000 active mini-buses.

Ighalo Drops Strong Hint On Returning To Super Eagles
Super Eagles and Shanghai Shenhua forward, Odion Ighalo has given a strong hint he could be back playing for the Super Eagles just weeks after announcing his retirement from international football.
The Chinese Super League striker shocked Nigerians when he announced his retirement from the national team following the Super Eagles win over Tunisia in the third-place match at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
After defeating the Carthage Eagles, Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr revealed the former Watford man has retired from the National team.
“He has been very strong for us,” Rohr told ESPN. “And it is sad, that he wants not to continue.
“But the door always is open for him any time.”
The former Granada striker then took to his social media pages to confirms Rohr’s comments, saying he is done with the Super Eagles.
However, following his announcement, NFF president, Amaju Pinnick revealed he has spoken to him to reverse his decision.
But Ighalo revealed he has not taken a decision yet as that time, saying he will need to consult his family before deciding.
“If I am going to reverse my retirement, I would need to consult with my family and my club. I respect the President of the NFF, but the reversal of my retirement is certainly not one that I can take alone. I need to consult with others before I make a decision.”
It now seems he has made a decision after he posted a picture of him with the Super Eagles on twitter with a cryptic caption, saying “Coming Back Stronger”
Ighalo’s comeback will be a huge boost for Rohr and the Super Eagles who begin their qualifiers for 2021 AFCON in November. He became the second Nigerian to win the golden boot at the just-concluded biennial tournament in Egypt, scoring in games against Burundi, Cameroon, Algeria, and Tunisia.

CHIEF COOK OF 7 EX-PRESIDENTS LIVES IN ABJECT POVERTY: WHO IS TO BLAME?
The story of 73-year-old Ugbaha Mohammed popularly known as Dogo is that of a fall from grace to grass. From the glamour and bliss of the State House in Lagos and Aso Rock, Abuja under seven former Nigerian leaders including military heads of state and civilian presidents, Dogo now lives in a thatched room offered him by a Good Samaritan in an Abuja slum.
Dogo served three civilian presidents and four military heads of the state beginning from the administration of the late Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Despite coming so close to power and fame, he is now dejected because of rejection by his children and other relations as well as the Nigerian leaders he served.
He has nine children: six girls and three boys. When contacted, Some of his children said they were yet to unravel the mystery behind a man who served seven Nigerian presidents not having a roof over his head and affording the cheapest medical service.
From his story, Dogo served the late Second Republic President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, head of the Interim National Government (ING), the late Gen. Sani Abacha, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Husband Kills Wife In Adamawa, Harvests Body Parts For Ritual (Graphic Photo)
An elderly man, Aliyu Hussaini has allegedly killed his wife, Aishatu Abubakar, mother of five children, popularly known as Sabuwa at Arhan Kunu Area of Mubi, a town in Adamawa State.
DAILY NIGERIAN reliably gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.
One of the family members of the deceased told DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent that the victim’s corpse was reportedly dumped in front of a public hospital in the area.
“My sister who works at the general hospital called to inform us that Sabuwa’s corpse had been dumped in front of the general hospital.
“Earlier, around 10:00 am, the deceased son rushed into our house, saying ‘my father has killed my mum’.
“We initially thought it was a normal misunderstanding between the couple until we got a call from the hospital where the corpse was dumped.
“When we saw the corpse of the victim, it was completely out of shape,” Rukayya Ahmed, who spoke on behalf of the family, explained.
“A pound of flesh had been cut off from her thigh, her mouth was torn and the tongue had been cut off too. Her stomach had also been cut off and there was no liver and some offal were also removed,” she added.
According to her, on reaching the deceased house, there was no trace of any evidence of physical struggle that could have possibly resulted in such incidence as the husband and his friend had already cleared the place.
“But they later produced three knives with which they hacked her,” she disclosed.
When Mr. Hussaini, the husband, could not be reached for comment, a resident in the neighborhood who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the husband had already reported himself to the police station, denying having any hand in the murder of his wife.
However, according to the local resident, Mr. Hussaini had confessed to having had a dream that he was stabbing something whitish, but not his wife.
“I had a dream the night before the incident. I saw something whitish attacking me and I retaliated. When I woke up, I saw my wife in that terrible condition, but I did not kill her,” the husband was reported as saying.
He added that Mr. Hussaini was earlier reported to have said that someone was going to die in his household on Friday before the incident that happened on Monday.
“Hussaini had earlier planned to flee with N1.8million belonging to his wife (the deceased) which she kept in the fridge, but his friend told him not to, saying he would become a prime suspect if he dared to flee,” the resident disclosed.
Speaking with DAILY NIGERIAN via a telephone chat, the Ward Head of the community, Isiyaku Jibrilla-Dagala, alleged that the incident could be linked to cultism or ritual activity.
“Some say that Hussaini is a psychiatric case. There’s, however, nothing to suggest his mental defect, being my close neighbor,” he argued.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state DSP Suleiman Nguroje said the husband has since been arrested.
“Yes, the man has been arrested having earlier reported himself to our station. He is currently under police custody in Mubi.
“The CP had swiftly ordered the anti-homicide unit to investigate the cause of this heinous act,” said Mr Nguroje.
