  4. 5 Ways to Save Your Mobile Data

Where your data goes depends on how you use your phone. As smartphones get increasingly smarter, the amount of data they pull from the Internet is increasing. For example, as you get instant updates about what your friends are doing, no matter where you are or get weather warnings when you are out and about, it means that some apps on your phones are taking liberal chunks out of your mobile data. The fact that you are spending more time browsing the Internet, streaming music or video, will also gobble up your data in a hurry. Fortunately, your Android devices have many options to help you save mobile data and below are five ways you can do that: Get your Facebook to behave Facebook is one of the more ravenous apps when it comes to consuming your mobile data. However, there are a number of ways in which you can limit how much data Facebook uses, while still being able to check what your friends and family are up to. Start by opening the Facebook app and tapping the three horizontal lines icon at the top-right of the screen, then scroll down until you see App Settings. Tap this, then tap Autoplay. Facebook automatically plays videos when you view your timeline, and this can soak up a lot of mobile data; set this option to either On Wi-Fi Connections Only or Never Autoplay Videos. Use apps offline A good way of saving mobile data on Android is by finding out which of the apps have an offline mode. For example, Youtube enables you to save music and playlists to your device so you can listen to them without streaming. By making your most-played songs and playlists available offline, you could save yourself a lot of data, just make sure you download the songs while you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Apart from Youtube, other apps such as Google Maps will now work offline, so it is worth looking to see if your favourite apps feature an offline mode Make sure apps are not auto-updating There are apps that automatically download updates while not connected to a Wi-Fi network and this is another thing that eats up your data To make sure apps are not downloading these potentially large updates while you are away from home and using mobile data, open up the Google Play Store and swipe from the left-hand side of the screen to open the Google Play Store menu. Scroll down the menu and tap on Settings, then make sure that under ‘Auto-update apps,’ ‘Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only’ is selected. Limit how often apps sync, and what they update While you may want certain apps to continue to fetch data from the Internet, you can still limit the amount of mobile data they consume by setting how often they connect to the Internet to sync. For example, if you do not need to know straight away that you have got a new email, you can change your email app to only check for new emails every hour. Some email apps, such as Gmail, use push notifications for email, which means you cannot change how regularly they sync (as the app will tell you as soon as you get a new email), but you can prevent it from downloading images in emails while on mobile data. To do, this open up Settings and tap on ‘Data usage.’ Scroll down to find Gmail and tap on it, then tap on ‘App settings.’ Select the account you use with the Gmail app, then make sure there is a tick next to ‘Auto-download attachments to recent messages via WiFi.’ You can also tap on ‘Always show’ under where it says ‘Images’ and change it to ‘Ask before showing.’ Restrict background data Many apps will access the Internet while running in the background and only help themselves to small bits of data every now and again. However, if you have a lot of apps, this can soon add up, so you may find your data disappearing a lot faster than you’d like. There is an easy way to restrict which apps use your mobile data connection in the background. On the same page as the graph showing your data usage (also found by opening up Settings and tapping ‘Data usage’) you will see a list of apps arranged by how much data they have used. If you want to prevent an app from using data in the background, tap on it and select ‘Restrict app background data.’

  6. THE DEATH OF 4-YEAR-OLD ANIYA DAY-GARRETT HAS LEFT THE WORLD SHOCKED, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE TORTURE SHE SUFFERED AT THE HANDS OF HER MOTHER AND HER BOYFRIEND BEFORE SHE WAS KILLED. The death of 4-year-old Aniya Day-Garrett has left many shocked, especially because of the torture she suffered at the hands of her mother and her boyfriendbefore she was killed. Anya was allegedly beaten to death by her mother and her boyfriend. Prior to that, she was starved and had her feet and legs burned. As a result of the torture, the child died in Euclid Hospital in Cleveland on Sunday from a stroke. Medical examiners said the stroke was caused by repeated blows to the head. Her mother Sierra Day, 23, and Day’s boyfriend Deonte Lewis, 26, were charged with aggravated murder and held on $1 million bonds. Day and her boyfriend called 911 at about 11.30am on Sunday to report that Aniya was unresponsive and not breathing. Day claimed Aniya started “acting weird” when they took her to Red Lobster the previous Thursday and that she fell off a toilet seat on Sunday. She said her daughter was unable to keep food or water down and threw up Tylenol she gave her, then barely ate any breakfast the morning of her death. But when police arrived, they saw that Aniya’s skin appeared to be “extremely pale and lifeless,” and her face and neck were “very small and emaciated”. The toddler also had what appeared to be rug burn marks on her feet and legs and was so malnourished paramedics “could see the individual joints” of her fingers. Doctors then noticed a big bruise on her left eye which was nearly swollen shut, a cut above her left eyebrow, and scald marks on both legs. It has been revealed that Harbor Crest Child Care filed an abusing a minor report against Day in May 2017 allegedly documenting 18 months of injuries to Aniya. Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services also conducted three separate investigations into allegations of neglect last year. However, it concluded there was not enough evidence to remove the child from her mother’s home. Aniya’s father Mickhal Garrett had been fighting to gain custody of his daughter and made repeated complaints accusing Day and Lewis of harming and abusing the child. Day was scheduled to meet with a social worker on Monday, March 19 to discuss Mickhal Garrett’s petition for an emergency custody but Aniya was killed before then. As Day and boyfriend Lewis faced court on Tuesday, Aniya’s father jumped to his feet and screamed in anguish: “You killed my f***ing child! You hurt my baby.” He then collapsed into the arms of family members and sobbed uncontrollably. Garrett has accused Child Protective Service of failing him and his child. “We want them to be held accountable,” said Garrett. “CPS failed me. They failed us all. Nobody should have to go through this. So many people tried and tried to make sure Aniya Marie Garrett was safe and they failed our family.”

  13. ISIS fanatics have targeted Lionel Messi in their latest propaganda poster promoting terror attacks at the Russia World Cup this summer. The photoshopped image shows the Barcelona and Argentina star on his knees wearing an orange Guantanamo Bay-style jumpsuit, often seen worn by victims in the terrorists’ execution videos. Messi is depicted on his knees inside Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium – venue for the World Cup final – with a masked jihadi to his left and the threat ‘so strike them upon the necks and strike from them every fingertips’ emblazoned above them. The official logo for the tournament has been altered to make it look like the world cup and the number eight in 2018 has been damaged. Sticks of dynamite can also be seen resting up against the halfway-line flag in the picture as the jihadi holds Messi’s hair with one hand and gestures with his other hand. It’s not the first time the five-time world footballer of the year has been targeted by ISIS. In October another poster emerged showing the Barcelona star behind bars in an attempt by terror fanatics to spread fear ahead of the the tournament in Russia. It came after another chilling poster showed a terrorist armed with a gun and explosives near a football stadium in Russia along with the words: ‘I swear that the Mujahideen’s fire will burn you… just you wait’. According to SITE, which monitors terror activity, pro-ISIS group the Wafa’ Media Foundation, published the World Cup warning in the wake of another recent threat.
  14. Manchester United are plotting a £40m move for Ryan Sessegnon this summer to replace embattled Luke Shaw, The Sun reports. According to sources, the England international feels Jose Mourinho is freezing him out and is thinking about complaining to Manchester United chief Ed Woodward, The former Southampton defender was substituted at half time during Saturday’s FA Cup quarter final 2-0 win over Brighton at Old Trafford. Mourinho said he had taken Shaw off because he failed to follow his tactical instructions in the tense match against Brighton. The 22-year-old had to wait until December for his first Premier League start of the season, but then started 2018 by playing five of United’s seven games because of Ashley Young’s suspension. The Sun reported that United have made enquiries on Sessegnon, and has been watched by United in his last three outings for Fulham as they prepare for a potential offer in the summer. The 17-year-old has been attracting interest from all of the top Premier League teams, with Tottenham also tracking the Fulham player. This means that the £80,000-a-week player could be heading for the exit, and his chances of making it to through to the World Cup with England is slim. United will play Tottenham in a semi final FA Cup clash as it is their only chance of a silverware this season after been knocked in the Champions League by Sevilla.a
  15. PSquare: You Played Yourselves

A reunion seem an emotional response to the breakup but few months down the line, the clamor is no longer valid. What happened? Life happened. Just when we thought we couldn’t live with the pain of seeing our favorite twins split up, like water under the river, the sentiment got swept away. Our favorite singing duo of PSquare allowed family feud to separate the legendary music group highly revered and respected all over Africa. Peter wasted no time in dropping singles one after the other. Paul took his time and eventually released his own songs but like Peter before him, their songs never hit the heights expected. No charts topping songs, no club hit, no heavy radio and tv rotations for the duo and the fans doesn’t care much. Is the magic touch in the power of two? Is the wand no longer potent? From all indications, Peter is not PSquare and Paul is not PSquare. Do we still want to see a reunion? Will they ever attain the status of dominance they once had? Questions after questions but the more you look at it, the less you see a return to prominence. Life’s lesson resides in this. No one stays prominent forever and It’s so easy to go from 100 to 50 in the Nigerian music industry. Would the twins ever stage a reunion and will that rejuvenate their careers? Only time will tell.a
