  1. A 25year-old Nigerian man simply identified as John has been arrested for allegedly attacking and assaulting a 24-year-old Nigerian lady in Florence, Italy. According to reports by the Italian police, the Nigerian lady identified as Stella was attacked by the man with a bottle while trying to forcefully collect her phone and money. It was gathered that the lady refused to hand over her properties which infuriated the Nigerian robber as he pushed to a corner and ripped her clothes off in a bid to rape her. The lady was said to have struggled her way out and managed to escape but not without being stabbed in the neck with the bottle. After escaping her attacker, the lady notified the Carabinieri, a local law enforcement agency who sent officers to track down and arrest the Nigerian suspect. The lady was rushed to the hospital where she is currently being treated over her stab wound and her attacker has been charged with attempted sexual violence, attempted robbery and inflicting injury on the victim.
  2. One of the survivors of the attack on two New Zealand mosques has been identified as Lateef Alabi, an imam at the Christchurch Mosques. Fifty people lost their lives when a gunman identified as Brenton Tarrant invaded two mosques in New Zealand city of Christchurch on Friday. Recounting his experience, Alabi, a leader in the Linwood mosque, said he was in the middle of his prayer when he heard gunshots. He said immediately he stopped his prayer and peeped out through the window where he saw an armed man “heavily dressed”. [Hidden Content] Alabi told everyone inside to get down and before he knew it, dead bodies were already lying on the floor. He said the gunman dropped his gun when he ran out of bullets. Then, he and a fellow worshippers followed the shooter as he left the mosque. The other man, he said, picked up the machine gun and smashed it into the gunman’s car windscreen. After the gunman drove away, Alabi returned to the mosque. “He shot one brother coming towards the mosque; he shot him from the head. I stopped my prayer, I peeped through the window, and I saw the person with a machine gun, heavily dressed. By the time I looked on the ground and saw dead bodies I thought this is something else, this is a terrorist,” Alabi said. “I started picking up the bodies to know who was dead and who was alive. I never thought this would happen in New Zealand, never, never, never, believe me. “But it’s happened, it’s happened, so it will happen anywhere and we just feel bad about those who have passed away and for their families … I will pray for them. “I’m very sad for what has happened, but I believe this country is a peaceful country and I hope something good will happen after that and the security will become tighter.”
  3. There was pandemonium yesterday at a popular restaurant named University of Amala located at Ejigbo Rd, Idimu, Lagos, as a gas cylinder exploded, injuring many customers. It was gathered that the owner and her children were also affected in the incident that caused panic in the area.   4. A young bride-to-be identified as Ade Ngufan from Benue State has reportedly passed away in her sleep. The sad incident happened last week. According to posts and comments by friends online, Ade reportedly went to sleep and didn’t wake up the next morning, March 10. She was not sick prior to her death. Another friend of the deceased, Jennifer Mngu said she was set to tie the knot. “Can’t believe u left me I was expecting to come for ur wedding now u re no more z it a dream or wat? God z high tym u intervene seriously We always hope n trust in u but Y ?” She wrote. Another wrote: “Ade Ngufan… We wia neva friends, we neva talked to each Oda, I despised u for a reason same way u did… But neva in my wildest imagination did I ever think death will come knocking so soon. How can u b fine just to sleep and not wake up d next morning? I neva wished u dat. Oh how it hurts dat I didn’t get d opportunity to make things right with you. I just pray God forgives our short comings and accept ur soul… Rest in peace dear “
  5. A pregnant female pastor has been heavily criticized over her attire after a picture of her went viral, showing her thighs while preaching during church service. The photo shows Pastor Shantelle Jepchumba of Glorious Heaven Ministries in Kimwarer, Kenya, wearing a dress with a long front slit which exposed her thighs.. Most internet users felt that the ‘woman of God’ expressed too much of her thighs, that could lead to moral decay and sexual harassment of her congregants. ” Waah,,,, all fake,,how do you go to church dressed that way,,on the pulpit,” said Maria Ondiso. However, some people felt that the pastor should not be answerable to anyone concerning her dress code, choosing to adopt the infamous line of ‘my dress my choice’. “She’s just ok. I can’t see any problem with her. You said Owuor’s follower puts on magunia…let her wear that’s her dress choice,” said Lilian Engesia. “We are aware of the devils tricks to bring down the church of Christ. Even if that lady was in a club, social media will attach church, give titles to her as a pastor to make the world not believe in the gospel.
  6. A young man has been apprehended for allegedly breaking into his neighbour’s house for robbery operation in Amukpe area of Sapele, Delta state. According to reports, the suspect gained access into the house after breaking through the wall and allegedly stole 10 pieces of wrappers worth N18, 000 each, Plasma TV, wrist watch worth N22,000 among other items. It was gathered that the suspect also ate the food the woman kept in her kitchen. He was caught by some area boys who stormed his house to recover the stolen items. Report has it that the wrist watch and TV have been recovered remaining the wrappers.
  7. A young schoolgirl forced a seven year-old classmate to have sex with her in a bathroom just yards away from their teacher, a lawsuit claims. The first-grade girl and a male classmate reportedly bundled their alleged victim into the restoom at the back of their classroom in Shalimar Elementary School in Walton Beach, Florida, USA. Their alleged attack, said to have taken place at the end of the 2015/16 academic year, saw the boy forced to perform sex acts on both, it is claimed. Attorney Aaron Watson, who is now suing the school on behalf of the boy’s family, added: ‘This female also caused my client, at the direction of the other male student and at the force of the other male student, (she) actually forced our client to have sex with the female child. ‘We are talking six, seven year-old children.’ No adults were present in the restroom when the alleged attack took place, but Watson says teachers were negligent in supervising the children. He adds that the alleged attackers and their young victim were left alone in the restroom for too long. Watson is suing the family over claims Okaloosa County School Board failed in their duty of care to the boy and allowed the rape to happen, WKRG reported.
  8. According to Daily Trust, a Kano renowned Qur’anic reciter, Sheikh Ahmad Sulaiman has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Sheme-Kankara road in Katsina state. The Chief Imam of Government House Juma’at mosque, Ustaz Mujtaba Ibrahim Abubakar, broke the news of the kidnapping shortly after the Juma’at congregational prayer at the Government House, Kano. He said the scholar was kidnapped alongside five other clerics who were on their way back to Kano from Kebbi state. “I am appealing to the kidnappers of these scholars to fear Allah and save the lives of these innocent people. For the Muslim ummah, I urged you to pray for these scholars and other people that were kidnapped,” he said. The Chief Imam called on security agencies to intensify search for the scholars with a view to rescuing them alive. He also appealed to government to improve security in the areas identified as worst hit by the activities of kidnappers.

  10. Nollywood Producer, Paul Emema, the popular Nigerian producer of soap operas including ‘Behind The Clouds’, has reportedly died. The producer of `Behind the Clouds’, Paul Emema, died at 52 after a brief illness. The producer, who is known for producing soap operas like ‘Behind the Clouds’ and ‘Supple Blues’, was confirmed dead on March 12. According to Pulse, Mr Emema’s death was announced by one of his friends and colleague, Francis Onwochie in a message. “Yesterday, I received a call from Ada, his long-time business development officer.“I called Mahmood Ali Balogun, our mutual friend and we both visited his house last night at Ago Palace Way Okota,” Mr Onwochie said. Mr Emema a scriptwriter, director, and producer, whose ailment was undisclosed, in time, became a point of reference in film making. A film maker, he came to limelight after the production of the hit soap opera, ‘Behind the Clouds,’ for the Nigerian Authority Television. He later went ahead to produce ‘Supple Blues,’ which was well received by the television audience. Mr Emema’s biggest movie production was the biopic on Reverend Father Tansi, which featured Jude Orhorha and Francis Onwochei. His death is coming eight days after the death of Tony Anyasodo, who passed away on March 7. The producer’s death makes it the sixth in Nollywood in recent times.
  11. Meanwhile, The son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf , has come under attack over his completion of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Yusuf on Thursday completed his one year mandatory NYSC year. Yusuf’s state of service and place of primary assignment (PPA) was never disclosed. The viral picture of him receiving his NYSC certificate has since stirred reactions online from Nigerians. Some questioned if Yusuf really completed the one year service and asked for the details of his Primary assignment to be disclosed to the public to verify his service year. Others queried presentation of his NYSC discharge certificate at the Villa.   12. Nigerian Singer, Davido, who just arrived at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States of America, has taken to social media to narrate his horrific flight experience. The ‘Assurance’ crooner said the plane experienced air turbulence for about 14 hours and he had to repent of his sins for about 10 times, but was grateful to have landed safely at his destination. He posted on Instagram: Omo this pilot no try!! Se shaking of plane for almost 14 hours straight. I don repent like 10 times for flight! Thank God we have arrived safe.
  13. A woman identified as Oluchi, has hanged herself, just a day after she made attempt to commit suicide by drinking a poisonous substance, but was rescued. The incident happened yesterday, in Aku, Igbo Etiti LGA of Enugu State on Friday. According to reports, the woman was said to have suffered serious domestic violence from her husband since they wedded in 2014 which reportedly led to her developing a mental sickness. She was later abandoned by the husband, who then moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers State. All pleas that he should take care of her mental health fell on deaf ears. However, on Thursday, Oluchi took a poisonous substance to end it all, but was rescued, only to hang herself yesterday.
  14. The quest to make quick cash has landed a young man in trouble in Edo state, after he was nabbed with female panties which he stole and planned to sell before his capture. The suspect who claims he hails from Warri, Delta state, was apprehended yesterday by residents in Igarra Akoko area of Edo. During an interrogation by the residents, the young man confessed that he was told by a man to look for panties which he would sell to him for a fee of N300K. He stole some panties successfully but was caught before he handed them over to the person who sent him on the illegal errand.   15. This is very sad. Four children of the same parents have passed away in an unfortunate circumstance which happened recently in Bayelsa state. According to reports, the siblings were killed by generator fumes at their home in the Southern state. The tragic incident has left the parents and other family members in lament as the corpses of the children have since been deposited in the mortuary. Last year, six members of a family of seven were found dead in their apartment in Benin, Edo state.
