  1. Suspected armed bandits have killed at least 8 people in an attack on Dogon Daji village in Maru local government area of Zamfara state. The attack came barely two weeks after a notorious cattle rustling kingpin called Buharin Daji was killed by one of the repentant bandits and his close associate known as Dogo Gide. Last month, 41 people were killed in an attack on Birane village by the suspected armed bandits in Zurmi local government area of the state. According to Daily Trust, a resident, Yusha’u Bingi said 7 persons were buried in the village adding that some residents were also abducted by the armed bandits. A former councillor identified as Musa Umar Bini who represented Bingi, the political ward of Dogon Daji village told Daily Trust that information reaching him indicated that 8 residents were killed in the attack. He said the armed bandits had earlier attempted to attack Bozaya, Tungar Rakumi, Dibgawa and Danbore villages all in Maru local government area of the state. He added that the armed bandits have been intercepting and killing residents around the communities in the area ever since the notorious cattle rustling kingpin called Buharin Daji was killed.
  2. Troops of 3 Division Garrison Jos Plateau State arrested 7 suspects and recovered weapons in the clash between Miango community and herdsmen at Rafiki Village few days ago. The troops responded to distress calls to the clash reported by locals. As troops moved in to settle the dispute, the herdsmen opened fire on troops convoy. 2 soldiers paid the supreme price. 7 suspects were arrested in connection with the clashes. While conducting search, troops discovered 23 dead bodies at Mararaba Dare shortly before Rafiki Village and many civilians were wounded. 2 other soldiers wounded are receiving medical attention at 3 Division Military Hospital and Medical Services. They are stable. Weapons recovered include one Ak 47 assault rifle with 26 rounds of 7.62mm special and One locally made single barrel loaded with 15 rounds. The troops later intensified patrol within the general area to forestall further break down of law and other.

  4. According to reports, a gang of Fulani herdsmen, on Wednesday morning, killed four soldiers and injured many others in Miango, Plateau State. Military sources told SaharaReporters that the soldiers were travelling in the convoy of their Garrison Commander. A soldier, who visited one of his injured colleagues at the 3rd Division Military Hospital within the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, said the victim, Corp0ral Maidugu, sustained died at the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.

A few days ago, a police officer with the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS allegedly killed the manager of BB Umar Livestock, popularly known as Nababa in Ganaja Village area, an outskirt of Lokoja in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State. The trigger-happy Police Officer, Sgt. Ibrahim Nassarawa who killed the unarmed Ram seller, Ibrahim Ali Mbaba in Lokoja, was paraded by the Acting Police Commissioner, Kogi State Command, Ali Janga. It was gathered that trouble started when some angry mob allegedly seized the motorbike of a SARS officer who allegedly hit a young girl. It was also revealed that when residents of the area were appealing to the officer to convey the girl for treatment, he refused but rather called his other colleagues who are also SARS operatives. The matter got worsened when men of the SARS arrived the scene and took a side in support of their colleagues, an action that sparked the anger of residents of Ganaja, who are natives. In the ensuing argument, there was a shootout, with a bullet allegedly hitting the manager of BB Umar, who was said to be seated in his shop. The death of the manager further infuriated the locals in Ganaja, leading to a pandemonium.

Recently arrested 39-year-old vicious assassin, Adeola Williams aka Ade Lawyer, has confessed that he has killed over 100 since assassinating people was his source of livelihood. “But now I’m born again,” he said while being paraded. Williams, a father of three from Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, was recently arrested over the killing of one Ganiyu Ayinla, aka Pinero, who was the P.A to Adekunle Lawal, aka Kunle Poly, the NURTW chairman in Idumota, Lagos. While giving an account of his activities, he said, “If I get a chance to regain my freedom in this life, I will never go back to crime again. I also advise the millions of youths out there that crime does not pay. I was into crime for over 20 years and despite the risk involved and lack of rest of mind, I have nothing to show for it except the uncompleted bungalow in Ibadan. I have nothing on ground to fall back on despite taking the lives of more than 100 Nigerians. May God forgive me.” . However, Williams said he decided to take the life of Kunle Poly for refusing to talk to the state chairman of the union, Tajudeen Agbede, on his behalf. He said he worked hard for Agbede to emerge as the chairman but that he was dumped after the election. . Williams added, “I thought about my predicament because my wife was heavily pregnant and the money I was getting from Oluomo wasn’t enough and I wasn’t ready to use my gun for armed robbery, so I decided to end the life of the man who refused to help me mend my relationship with Agbede.” . He said after the attack on Kunle Poly, he was later arrested but that he didn’t want to go down alone, thus he indicted some other persons. . He added, “I decided to rope in Olorunwa because he was the one who ruined my life. It was my support for him during his fight with MC Oluomo that made me to lose my position at the union. . After he was removed from office, he had so much money but he was wasting it on women and movie actors and he refused to help me. I was just so bitter, so I framed him.” He said he also decided to lie against MC Oluomo and Prince Kazeem Aletu

More people have been reported killed in Nigeria in the first 10 weeks of 2018 than have been reported killing in Syria, where there is a full blown war, in the same period. 1351 Nigerians were killed in violent crimes in Nigeria as against the 1017 people killed in war-torn Syria. These violent crimes include killings from rampaging Fulani Herdsmen, Boko-Haram killings etc. If this doesn’t scare you, then I dont know what will.

The Kaduna Sector Command of FRSC, has confirmed the death of a Youth Corps member, Oyeleke Ajani, a veterinary doctor, as one of the two people killed on Thursday in an accident involving a trailer and a motorcycle in Kaduna. The FRSC Sector Commander, Umar Ibrahim, said the accident happened around 2 p.m by Lagos Garage Road, Mando, along Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Kaduna.“Our findings revealed that the corps member, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the motorcycle rider were riding against traffic heading to Mando from Kawo bridge. The rider lost control and jammed into a trailer coming from the opposite direction, killing the two instantly,” he explained. The commander advised people to desist from driving against traffic, stressing that such behaviour could lead people to untimely death.
  9. Buhari Tsoho (a.k.a. Buharin Daji, i.e. Buhari of the Forest) was reputed to be the most vicious of all the brigands perpetrating atrocities in Zamfara and neighbouring states. He was killed by his deputy, on behalf of the government, on Wednesday. His body was found some days ago. Buhari was born in Dangulbi town, near Dansadau town in Zamfara state. He was said to be the leader of the main gang carrying out horrible killings and mass murder in villages across the state, as well as in Kaduna and Katsina states. His record of ruthlessness has no match. His road to perdition was paved with stones of betrayal and classic Mafia creeds. According to Ibrahim Sheme, recently, he had stormed a Fulani settlement of Katsinawa in Zamfara state and carted away some cattle belonging to the father-in-law of Gide Dogo. Dogo was Buhari’s second in-command but had since switched loyalties. He is now assisting the security forces in clearing all the enclaves of cattle rustlers and wayward gunmen in those states. Dogo sought a truce in which the cattle could be returned, but Buhari refused for some time. Finally, he agreed to meet with Dogo in the mountainous Nabango forest located in the Goron Dutse district of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna state, to discuss the truce. On the appointed time on Wednesday, as Buhari approached the venue, Dogo opened fire and killed him and his six top commanders. However, he was the one who told the security agencies where to go and pick up the corpses of Buharin Daji and the six other brigands. The corpses were taken to the Government House where they were displayed to the public by the Deputy Governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala.

The investigation into her mysterious disappearance took an unexpected twist in the last few hours after her husband Roberto Audano, 70, confessed to killing her and burying her body. Argentinian Roberto has now been arrested on suspicion of homicide while police continue their search for his alleged victim’s body in hills near the city of Mendoza where he is said to have told detectives he hid her body. Ms Rodriguez, who spent time with her footballer boyfriend in Manchester recently, took to social media overnight after learning about the shock news to pay tribute to her relative. She wrote alongside a picture of a rose, at the start of International Women’s Day: ‘Us women, who carry human beings in their wombs and feed them in their first days of life and promise unconditional love forever. Fragile and sweet. ‘At the same time capable of enduring the strongest pain. We are not fragile and we are not sweet where there is violence. ‘Protecting another is part of our instincts. Two pistols and two shotguns were found during a search of his home after his Tuesday night confession to police, who are focusing their search on an area near Potrilleros in the Andean foothills a short drive from Mendoza. Forensic experts are also reported to have found traces of blood in Audano’s truck.
  11. A man who recently got married to his wife has ended up being killed after a wedding gift they got, exploded in their home. According to BBC, a newly married man and his grandmother were killed in India when a wedding gift they were opening exploded. The man’s wife was critically injured in the blast on Friday in the eastern state of Odisha, police said. Soumya Sekhar and Reema Sahu got married on the 18 February and they received the “gift” at their wedding reception a few days later. It was actually a parcel bomb and did not have the sender’s address of it, police said. The parcel exploded as soon as it was unwrapped, relatives told local media. Mr Sehu and his 85-year-old grandmother, Jemamani Sahu, died from their injuries in a hospital. The motive for the attack is not clear, police said, however, they suspect it was carried out by someone in the area.
  12. A heartbroken man has taken to social media to recount how he mistakenly killed his young daughter yesterday in Katsina State. The man, identified simply as Abdullahi Abubakar Darma shared a photo of his daughter on his Facebook page and revealed what happened. He wrote: Here is the rough translation of what he wrote: "a few minutes ago, I got tested (i.e tested by God). I was reversing my car and I marched on my daughter mistakenly and she died"
  13. Kano state has recorded a gory accident, which saw 22 secondary school student dead. According to multiple reports, the students were going on an excursion to a radio station in Kano state, when they were involved in a fatal accident at Gaya local government area of the state yesterday February 13th. The accident, which occurred at about 11.00 a.m., involved a truck and the bus conveying the students from Misau local government, Bauchi to the radio station. Eyewitnesses say the bus collided with the truck as both were trying to avoid a pothole at Samia Uku village. The victims have been buried according to our Islamic injunction. The funeral prayers took place at emir's palace, Misau Emirate Council. May their souls rest in peace, Amen.
  14. Mr. Don Wani, the notorious kidnapper behind the killing of 23 persons in Omoku in Rivers state, has been killed. The suspected militant leader, was killed in a combined operation by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Army at a border town between Rivers and Imo. A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the incident happened at about 5 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Tosin Ajayi, Rivers Director of DSS, said: "No comment for now," when he was contacted to comment on the incident.

Facebook user, Chukwudi Iwuchukwuwho shared photos from his burial ceremony wrote; “Peter Aboh was a final year student of Micro Biology at the Federal University, Lafia in Nasarawa State. He was due to graduate in 8 months. Before Fulani herdsmen gruesomely murdered him in his home in Utonkon in Ado LGA”
  16. Four Persons have died and 13 others sustained various degrees of injuries in an accident that occurred along Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday. The Sector Commander of the FRSC, Clement Oladele, said the accident happened in front of Christopher University at KM 82 at about 7.25 p.m. According to Oladele, two vehicles and 23 people were involved in the mishap that claimed four lives, leaving 13 injured. The sector commander said that a commercial bus with registration number AKK 450 YY that was heading to Ibadan lost control due to speeding and rammed into a Toyota Sienna with registration number FST 370 DC. “The corpses had been deposited at the mortuary at Fakoya Mortuary Sagamu while the injured persons were taken to Broad Life Hospital at Olowotedo and Idera Hospital, Sagamu, for intensive treatment,” he said. The sector commander admonished motorists to be cautious and desist from speeding to ensure safety of lives and property.
