  1. The suspected bomb markers who arrested by police operatives in Edo State have been paraded. This comes after a suspected bomb factory was uncovered in Iddo, Okpella, in Estako East local government area of Edo State after an explosion in the area. One of the suspected bomb makers was killed in the explosion while another person’s leg was also chopped off by the blast, the Nation reports. The building where the suspected bombs were manufactured is a three- bedroom apartment which the villagers said was occupied by some men from Kogi State. Eyewitnesses said they ran for safety when they heard the explosion on Monday evening. One of the occupants, who reportedly escaped with a car loaded with prepared explosives, arms and ammunition, abandoned the vehicle along a bush path and fled.
  2. Mr. Don Wani, the notorious kidnapper behind the killing of 23 persons in Omoku in Rivers state, has been killed. The suspected militant leader, was killed in a combined operation by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Army at a border town between Rivers and Imo. A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the incident happened at about 5 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Tosin Ajayi, Rivers Director of DSS, said: "No comment for now," when he was contacted to comment on the incident.

  4. The Imo State Police Command has arrested a six-woman-child-trafficking gang who specialize in stealing children from churches and selling to prospective clients. Suspects arrested include Ijeoma Eboka, Irene Ogbuehi, Chinyere Mark, Perpetua Dike, Lilian Asoluka, Grace Ogueri and Edith Ejiaga, as it was gathered that leader of the gang, 32-year-old Nnenna Njoku uses her 10-year-old daughter, Chinecherem Onyejiaka, to lure children out of churches and homes. Speaking to Punch correspondent, the State’s Police PRO, Andrew Enwerem, said the number of children missing in the prime suspect’s area of operation was nine. “The prime suspect confessed to stealing three children. The other suspects were arrested and they made confessional statements, which led to the recovery of three children – Ezinne Nwosu (4), Chimjindum Felix (3),and Rejoice Ezirim (3). It is worthy of note that one Chimaobi Duru (4), was earlier recovered from the prime suspect, Nnenna Njoku.” The leader of the gang, Nnenna Njoku who confessed to being a divorcee and mother of five children, revealed that she made N380,000 from the sale of the three children to Eboka, an indigene of Delta state, who she met at different meeting points in Anambra State, who sold them to waiting buyers. The second buyer, Ogbueri (45) from Orlu in Imo State,confessed that she bought two children from Eboka for N600,000 each, while she sold them at N750,000 to Dike (60), and another buyer who was at large.

  7. A Teacher at starlight secondary school, in Ogidi, Anambra state has died after he was brutally beaten for flogging a 14-year-old student named Okafor Chinaza. According to report teacher flogged the female student after she refused to sweep their class room according to the roaster.. When the teacher walked in to teach them, she found out that the class was dirty as she questioned the student why she didn’t carry out her duty. The student allegedly responded in an insulting manner to the teacher according to fellow student’s present in the class room. In response, the teacher asked her to kneel down before the class but the student reportedly refused as the teacher annoyingly flogged her and she fled the class from the school fence, and ran home. According to starlight secondary school security, she refused to introduce herself properly as she forced her way into the school and went to the classroom. Upon getting close to them, the student who came with her mother and other relatives, pointed at the teacher to the mother as she rushed to hit her (the teacher) with the stick she had come with. After a while, the teacher collapsed and was rushed to Iyi-Enu Hospital Ogidi where the doctor confirmed her dead moments later. Currently, the parents and the student are being detained by the police in Ogidi police station.
  8. The authority of Osun State Polytechnic on Thursday, November 29, 2017 expelled 14 students from the school for protesting against the school registration deadline date. The school management accused the students of involving themselves in disruption of peace on Campus on Monday, 27th of November 2017 and organized, participated in the violent protest. When reacting to the incident, Ogunrinade Olaoluwa, popularly know as Comrade Dudu said “We didn’t face any disciplinary committee, they just conclude that we protested against the increments and newly introduced fee, a struggle that was led in collation of all HND 1 class governors” . He also made it known that Out of 15 departmental governors, 13 was suspended alongside him and the Students’ Union leaders in NANS, JCC vows to make sure that the expelled students get back to the campus by making using of the 3C’s formula of Aluta.
