Vp of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has just escaped death after the helicopter conveying him crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi State. Reports say the incident befell in the course of a campaign tour of the state. According to an aide of the Vice-President, Laolu Akande, he’s confirmed that the VP and everyone involved int he crash is okay. Laolu Akande said the vice president and the crew were unhurt. “VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe,” Akande tweeted. “He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State.” Osinbajo is President Buhari’s running mate in the presidential elections scheduled to hold on February 16, 2019. Final Year Student Shot Dead By Gunmen In Kogi State (Photos)

A final year student of Kogi State University in Anyigba, was murdered yesterday by unknown gunmen, according to reports. It was gathered that the deceased identified as Abdullahi Muhammed Awwal popularly known as comrade Lincoln, was killed near NTA office after being attacked by the gunmen. While the main reason for the killing is yet to be ascertained, some have said he was killed by suspected armed robbers, others claimed he was shot dead by cultists. However, the deceased student has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace. -
Doctor Found Dead Inside A Hotel Room In Benin, Edo State (Photo)

A medical doctor simply identified as Osasogie Ogbeide, has been found dead inside a hotel in Benin, Edo State. According to the Edo state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, the deceased was a doctor at the Radiology Department of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). Mr Odumosu revealed that it wasn’t a case of murder or kidnap. He said: “The doctor checked into an hotel on Saturday. He was not seen going out on Sunday; nor did anyone visit him. . So the door was forced open on Sunday. He was found lying face-down on the bed. The bedsheet was not even ruffled. There was also a bottle of soft drink in the room. There was no sign of struggle or anything on him. We are looking into a case of suicide or suffocation. We are waiting for the autopsy report from the hospital and as a doctor, they are going to do a scan on the body.” -

The NYSC state coordinator for FCT identified as Bello Balama, reportedly ordered a corps member to kneel down for trying to leave during his address. The incident was captured in a viral video, even though why the corps member wanted to leave the address ground was not disclosed. Bello Balama was appointed as the new Coordinator for the National Youth Service Corps in the Federal Capital Territory, in 2017. He took over from Abdulrazak Salawu, who was recently elevated to the position of Director at the headquarters. Until his appointment, Balama, was the immediate past Coordinator of NYSC in Kaduna State. -

A distraught Nigerian lady calls out her husband via Facebook, for reportedly beating her because of his side chick in Delta State. The lady who called out her husband was identified as Timi Miebi, and she shared photos of injuries she sustained from the domestic violence incident which she said was quite a painful experience. The yet-to-be identified man was apprehended while picking female undies and soaked sanitary pads in Akure, Ondo state. Operatives of the IGP Intelligence Response Team, IRT, has handed over three suspected Advance Fee fraudsters to the Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for further investigation. The suspects who are between 22 and 29 years of age include Ebenezer Adeniyi Oluwafemi, Kolade Samuel Sogo, and Olwagbenga Majeed Ejikunke. They were arrested Tuesday 4th, December 2018 in Ilesha, Osun State following series of intelligence gathered by the operatives. Preliminary investigations further revealed that the suspects allegedly got involved in different romance scam posing as female foreigners to fleece unsuspecting victims on social media. At the point of arrest, varied fetish materials, two laptops, and five different brands of telephones were recovered from them. Several documents containing false pretenses were also recovered from the suspects. According to the Head, Ibadan Office, Abdulrasheed Bawa, the handing over of the three suspects brought the total number of Advance Fee fraudsters arrested in the Ibadan office to 40 in the last couple of weeks. “The zone is no longer a hiding place for the fraudsters”, he stated. The investigation is still ongoing and the suspects will soon be charged to court.
