  1. Lots of Nigerian people dream of going to the United States, getting acquainted with the culture of this enormous country, and having a memorable trip. However, you will have to apply for US visa in Nigeria and successfully receive it before going on your American adventure. Learn the necessary information about the USA visa application in Nigeria. US VISA APPLICATION: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW Many Nigerians would give everything to receive the cherished American visa in their passport. However, first of all, you should learn the requirements for your wished type of visa. There are the following basic types of US visa: Non-immigrant visa – received by people who want to stay in the United States for a certain set period, but they are not planning on staying there long-term. This type of visa is used by business people, workers, students, or just tourists who want to see the United States. Those people who want to receive the non-immigrant visa have to prove that they are strongly tied to their native country and that they do not intend to stay in the United States after their visa expires. People can apply for a non-immigrant visa in Lagos and Abuja. Immigrant visa – this type of visa applies to those who want to live in the United States permanently. It is more difficult to acquire this one than the non-immigrant visa. Usually, the process starts when the person gets a relative, who is a citizen of the United States, send the petition and help out with the documents. The employer who wants to hire the worker also can send a petition. In Nigeria, you can apply for this kind of visa only in Lagos. Getting the visa does not guarantee the successful entry to the US. If you have received the visa, this means that the consular officer found you eligible for applying to the United States entry. US VISA APPLICATION FORM In this article, we will be talking about applying for the non-immigrant visa. There are a few steps that you should take in order to apply successfully for this type of United States visa. First of all, you will have to determine the type of visa that you need, because there are a few different types of common non-immigrant visas: Business/tourist visa – this visa type is for those people who want to organize their trip to the United States for business (in this case, they will need the B1 category) or for tourist purposes or medical treatment (B2 category). Business visa is usually for workers who want to consult the business associates, attend the educational, business, scientific or professional conferences, buy the estate, or negotiate some kind of business contract. Those who want to apply for a tourist visa are usually planning to go to the United States for recreational purposes, like sightseeing, visiting their friends or family, various social activities, or professional medical treatment. Work visa – people who are going to the United States in order to perform some official work temporarily will need this kind of visa. There are few kinds of work visa (H, L, O, P, Q, R), which depend on the type of job that you will be performing in the United States. Most of the work visa categories have to be supported by the petition from your employer, who is based in the States. Student visa – people who would like to receive their education in the United States will need a student visa. Before applying for this kind of visa, a student must be approved by his/her chosen school and accepted for it. Then, the student will be provided with the list of documents to submit for the student visa. There are two variants of student visa – F-1 is most common, as it helps people to get involved in academic studies in the United States. As for M-1 visa, it will give you the right to participate in the non-academic studies. Exchange visitor visa – a person who was approved for participation in a certain exchange program will need to get an exchange visitor visa or a visa of J-type. This kind of visa was made for helping people to participate in cultural and educational exchanges. Keep in mind that before applying for a visa, you will need the official approval from the sponsor of the exchange program that you are planning to participate in. Once you are accepted for the program, you will be given further instructions from the representatives. Transit/Ship crew visa – the transit visa (C-type) was designed for those people who are citizens of the foreign country, and they have to travel through the United States territory to the other country they are visiting. This visa is not suitable for those people who want to stay in the United States for a certain period. On the other hand, ship visa (D-type) is for those who serve on board of the sea ship or in the aircraft. Those crew members who transit through the territory of the United States usually use the combined visa C-1/D. Domestic employee visa – this visa is for people who are personal or domestic employees. They are commonly accompanying their employer to the United States. The domestic employee list includes such professions as butlers, nannies, cooks, housemaids, gardeners, and other workers who have an official paid job at someone’s house. The documents that you will need to provide depend on the job specifics and the visa type of your employer. Journalist/media visa – this one is given to the representatives of foreign media outlets, who temporarily go to the United States in order to perform professional activities. However, their office is still located in their country of residence. Media visa is the visa of I-type, and it has a lot of different requirements. Other types of visa – there are a lot of them for multiple various situations, and you will have to look them up on the official website of US visa application in Nigeria or ask about all of them in the embassy if your case is specific. After you have determined your type of visa, you will need to pay the visa fee. You can read about the particular visa fee for every type below. Afterward, you will need to fill in the special form, which is called DS-160 form. While filling it in, you should be very careful because the information needs to be accurate and correct. Besides, after the submission, you will be unable to make changes to it anymore. Usually, people invite a professional translator or lawyer if they are having issues with completing the DS-160 application form. For booking the appointment, you will have to use the number of your DS-160, which you will find on the confirmation page of your application. The DS-160 application form should be completed by every applicant, including young children. The form needs to be submitted before the interview at the consulate or embassy. Without the DS-160 application, you will not be allowed to attend the interview. Also, you should remember that every applicant must submit the form online – the forms which are printed out and handwritten will be rejected. All the information in the form should be true; otherwise, you might get permanent ineligibility for the visa. Check your information on the form carefully and make sure that all the answers to the questions are correct and complete. To complete the form successfully, you should remember a few basic guidelines which will help you out. The post that you choose at the start of filling the DS-160 should be the same where you are going to schedule the visa interview appointment. The language for answering the questions is English, and you should only use the English characters in your answers. The exception is when you have to give your full name how it is written in the native language and alphabet. You should be aware that if you stop filling the application for twenty minutes or more, the session expires and you will have to do it all over again, except the cases when you have written down the application ID number or saved the application on your computer as a file. You should write down the ID number of the application, which you can see in the top right corner of the webpage. So, if you will have to close your browser before the application is completed, and are planning to go back to working on it later, you will easily get access to the application with the help of ID number. After you complete the DS-160 form, the confirmation page will follow. This page should be printed out and brought to your interview. When you have saved the confirmation page, you should go back to the DS-160 form and save the backup copy of it in PDF format, in order to have access to it whenever you need. You will only be accepted for the interview if the name in DS-160 form matches your passport name, and you have the confirmation printout with a receipt number. Make sure all of these things are sorted out. The DS-160 form can be downloaded on the official website of US visa applications from Nigeria. When you have completed the procedure of filling the DS-160 form and have submitted it online, you are ready to schedule the visa appointment. For that, you will have to make a profile on the official website. Fill in all the fields. When you are registered, you should see the dashboard. Choose the option “Schedule appointment” on the left. This action will begin the process of scheduling the visa appointment. Every applicant who schedules the visa appointment for American visa will need the following information for scheduling: The passport number of the applicant. The receipt number, which you received at GT-Bank. The 10-digit barcode number from DS-160 confirmation page. When you are on the scheduling page, you will have to choose the type of your visa, enter your personal information, add the dependents, choose the delivery location of your documents, confirm the payment for a visa, and schedule the appointment for a certain date and time. On the set date and time of your US visa appointment, you should arrive at the embassy with the document package. REQUIREMENTS FOR US VISA Every visa type requires its own pack of documents. For determining the bundle of documents that you will need, you have to look them up in the information section of your visa type. However, we will give you some general recommendations about your documents: First of all, every document which will confirm that you are not planning on staying in the United States illegally should be taken to the appointment. You should only submit the original documentation. It is not recommended to bring the photocopies. Trying to submit false documents can result in you being banned from acquiring the visa forever, so you should not risk it. You are not required to send the documents by fax or mail unless the consulate needs you to. Your documents will stay confidential when they are passed to the embassy workers. The decision to give you a United States visa will be taken based on the interview and information that you provided in the documents. US VISA FEE All the applicants are required to pay the certain application fee. In case of visa rejection, the fee will not be returned. 2. Just days after controversially sporting blue hair during the Manchester derby, Paul Pogba has decided for another new hairstyle. In a social media post, the Manchester United midfielder displayed his new haircut in tribute to animated Japanese character Dragon Ball Z. Pogba recently got slammed by former United player Gary Neville for sporting a blue hairstyle for the clash with neighbours City last weekend. And he is due to receive even more criticism for his latest trim. Last weekend, the former England right back said: ‘I like him, I think he’s a good player, but he doesn’t help himself. ‘If you are a wise individual, you don’t attract attention when things aren’t going your way. Pogba doesn’t work like that. He’s got a big job to do, he’s got to prove he’s serious about his football. ‘Coming here with blue hair today, win it’s fine, lose and that’s going to get mentioned forevermore. It’s ridiculous.’ Meanwhile, Pogba struggled as Manchester United lost 0-1 to relegation zone West Brom on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
  3. Former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, has questioned Paul Pogba’s consistency after the Manchester United midfielder endured a miserable afternoon in their 1-0 defeat to West Brom on Sunday. The loss ensured that their rivals, Manchester City, were confirmed Premier League champions. Pogba’s performance was poor compared to last Sunday, when he scored twice to inspire a comeback win against City at The Etihad. Henry, speaking on Sky Sports, said he has learnt a lot about his fellow Frenchman after his latest display. “As soon as the game started, something was weird — the atmosphere of the stadium, the team — it’s so weird from what we saw from that team a week ago. “The commitment, the desire, and I asked if Pogba can do that all the time, the way he played against City. The answer is nope.”
  4. Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has lambasted his players for handing Manchester City rivals the Premier League title. Mourinho said the attitude of his players had changed following their victory over Manchester City last weekend. United suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Brom on Sunday evening – a result which handed City the Premier League title. Jay Rodriguez headed home the only goal of the game to keep their faint relegation survival hopes alive. Mourinho told reporters, “I won eight titles and I am not on the moon because I won against Manchester City. “I saw lots of people over the moon because we won against City. “You could see the difference in the attitude to players compared to last week. “We deserve to be punished, but the defeat was too heavy.” Asked if he was frustrated because City won the title on the back of United’s loss, the Portuguese said, “I have won titles, I would not be happy if someone said I won title because someone lost a match. “City won the title because they won more points than everyone else, not tell City they won title because United did not win, it is not fair on them.”
  5. Ian Wright thinks Anthony Martial has “fallen off a cliff” at Manchester United and Jose Mourinho would prefer to let him go than Marcus Rashford. There have been reports in the media that both Martial and Rashford are unhappy with their lack of starts this season. Martial in particular has found his opportunities limited as of late, starting just four games since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January. And former Arsenal and England striker Wright told The Debate: “He has almost fallen off a cliff with Mourinho and if he had to let one of them [Martial or Rashford] go it would probably be Martial.” Asked whether Martial and Rashford should be thinking about leaving, Wright added: “They should be thinking about it with everything that’s happening and the way United play. “They should be a lot closer to Manchester City with the quality they have got but they have not been able to really express themselves in the way they want to.” Former Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy agreed with Wright on Martial, saying: “I like him but he frustrates me. I watch him and I’m thinking ‘please use your pace, go on the outside for once’. He has all that ability. “To play out wide for Mourinho is a difficult job, he asks a lot, especially going the other way.” Rashford came up through the United academy but was only a late substitute in the derby win over Manchester City last weekend. “I would be worried if he didn’t want to play and wasn’t disappointed with not starting,” said Bellamy. “But I am sure Man Utd are looking at it and thinking ‘he isn’t going’. He might not be getting the game time he wants and maybe not next year if one or two players come in, but he could go on loan and go to a club they want because he is going to be there for the long haul, because he’s that good a player. “If he was available there would be a queue of clubs, top clubs, wanting to sign him. I think he’s going to be a star, one of the top players.”
  6. Manchester City would have been celebrating the Premier League title if not for a sensational second half display by rivals Manchester United. City were already 2 – 0 up at the end of the first 45 minutes and were literally on the verge of crowning their fantastic campaign with the confirmation of what we know has been coming for a while. Tunnel cam reveals Fabian Delph’s unfortunate half-time prediction against Manchester United Definitely they will be crowned champions, of course, but the opportunity to win the title at home to their biggest rivals looked to be an opportunity they could not pass up sadly they they did. United’s comeback from two goals down to win 3-2 and Raheem Sterling in particular was guilty of being extremely wasteful, firing two efforts over the crossbar when it looked easier to score. It was also discovered from footage that Sterling’s teammate Fabian Delph tried to gee up his England colleague by making a half-time prediction, but it went badly wrong. As the players prepare to head out for the second half, Delph can be heard telling Sterling to “keep getting in the positions, you’re gonna get two or three.” But City were overwhelmed by the visitors in the second period, with Sterling missing another chance late on when he diverted a close range effort onto the post.
  7. Manchester United midfielder Tosin Kehinde appears to have chosen to represent the Nigeria national team. The 19-year-old was born in the Nigerian city of Lagos but is eligible to play for England. However, Kehinde was photographed shaking hands with Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr ahead of their London friendly with Serbia on Tuesday night. Kehinde is eager to play for Nigeria ahead of England. Tosin met with the first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Shehu Dikko, alongside his parents before meeting with coach Rohr. Rated by many as one of the talented kids in the U23s of the English Premier League giants, he presented an Ashley Young jersey to Dikko in the meeting attended by his parents. Rohr is in the London for Tuesday’s international friendly against Serbia at the Hive Stadium. The German is seeking to make it two out of two in this international window, after the Eagles beat Poland 1-0 last Friday in Wraclow.
  8. Manchester United are plotting a £40m move for Ryan Sessegnon this summer to replace embattled Luke Shaw, The Sun reports. According to sources, the England international feels Jose Mourinho is freezing him out and is thinking about complaining to Manchester United chief Ed Woodward, The former Southampton defender was substituted at half time during Saturday’s FA Cup quarter final 2-0 win over Brighton at Old Trafford. Mourinho said he had taken Shaw off because he failed to follow his tactical instructions in the tense match against Brighton. The 22-year-old had to wait until December for his first Premier League start of the season, but then started 2018 by playing five of United’s seven games because of Ashley Young’s suspension. The Sun reported that United have made enquiries on Sessegnon, and has been watched by United in his last three outings for Fulham as they prepare for a potential offer in the summer. The 17-year-old has been attracting interest from all of the top Premier League teams, with Tottenham also tracking the Fulham player. This means that the £80,000-a-week player could be heading for the exit, and his chances of making it to through to the World Cup with England is slim. United will play Tottenham in a semi final FA Cup clash as it is their only chance of a silverware this season after been knocked in the Champions League by Sevilla.a
  9. France coach Didier Deschamps on Monday said that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba “can’t be happy” with his current situation at Old Trafford. Pogba was an unused substitute in United’s FA Cup win over Brighton on Saturday, after being left out of the starting line-up when Jose Mourinho’s side were dumped out of the Champions League by Sevilla. The 25-year-old is with Deschamps’ France squad ahead of their World Cup warm-up friendlies against Colombia and Russia. “I haven’t discussed it will Paul, I’m sure I’ll know more about it,” said Deschamps. “But obviously this isn’t a situation he’s appreciating in relation to everything that he’s done. He can’t be happy with what he’s going through at the moment with his club. “I have a lot of talks with players to interact with them and understand their feelings.” Pogba has started just 24 matches for United this season, with manager Mourinho preferring Marouane Fellaini and youngster Scott McTominay to the former world’s most expensive player in recent weeks. Deschamps’ France, one of the favourites for the World Cup in Russia, face Colombia in Paris on Friday before travelling for a match in St Petersburg on March 27.
  10. According to reports, Manchester United star has been dumped by his actress girlfriend after a whirlwind romance. Model Jena Frumes appeared to confirm the split with 25-year-old Jesse Lingard this week in a couple of classy Twitter posts. In the first, the 24-year-old told her 96,000 followers: “At least I can say I tried plus enjoyed the ride.” She followed it up on Thursday, writing: “I love Jesse to death but sometimes the timing is just off.” Jena, no stranger to sharing super-glamorous images of herself wearing skimpy bikinis, appears to have since deleted both posts as they no longer visible on her page. It comes three months after a fan claimed England star Lingard, had cheated on Jena with her after United’s 1-2 derby defeat to Manchester City. Apparently unmoved by the claims, Jena continued to post pictures on Instagram and Twitter, showing her in loved-up poses with Lingard. The pair first met in the US last year or in 2016 and started dating a few months later. They were also seen on a romantic weekend in Barcelona. Now, it seems she’s single again.
  11. Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez was comforting his grieving girlfriend today after she was hit with a bad family news. According to media reports, her aunt’s husband had confessed to shooting her dead. Mayte Rodriguez and her actress mum Carolina Arregui both appealed for information on the whereabouts of Concepcion Arregui after she vanished on February 5. The 59-year-old’s family reported her missing to police after she supposedly took a long-distance coach from her home in Argentina to her native Chile but failed to arrive. The investigation into her mysterious disappearance took an unexpected twist in the last few hours after her husband Roberto Audano, 70, confessed to killing her and burying her body. Argentinian Roberto has now been arrested on suspicion of homicide while police continue their search for his alleged victim’s body in hills near the city of Mendoza where he is said to have told detectives he hid her body. Ms Rodriguez, who spent time with her footballer boyfriend in Manchester recently, took to social media overnight after learning about the shock news to pay tribute to her relative. She wrote alongside a picture of a rose, at the start of International Women’s Day: ‘Us women, who carry human beings in their wombs and feed them in their first days of life and promise unconditional love forever. Fragile and sweet. ‘At the same time capable of enduring the strongest pain. We are not fragile and we are not sweet where there is violence. ‘Protecting another is part of our instincts. Protect and denounce violence. Verbal or physical. National consciousness. ‘A man is no longer a man when he mistreats a woman. With pain, we say goodbye to you today.’ The focus turned to Audano, said to have asked Ms. Arregui, for a divorce after just a year of marriage, when investigators found no CCTV footage to back up his claims he had taken her to a bus station in Mendoza on February 5 so she could travel to Chile to surprise her loved ones. Two pistols and two shotguns were found during a search of his home after his Tuesday night confession to police, who are focusing their search on an area near Potrilleros in the Andean foothills a short drive from Mendoza. Forensic experts are also reported to have found traces of blood in Audano’s truck.

Since moving to United, the 29-year-old has not yet made a huge impression on the team has scored just once in seven appearances in all competitions. According to El Pais, some members of United’s board have told Premier League executives that they regret signing Sanchez for three reasons. The hierarchy reportedly feels that the player would have been much cheaper had they secured his signature in the summer when his contract at Arsenal expired. In addition, it is believed that sections of the club have questioned his high wages amid concerns of unrest within the squad, in particular, Paul Pogba, who allegedly wants a pay rise. The publication states that the third reason relates to Sanchez’s age, with board members feeling that the attacker only has a few years left at this level.
  13. A young man from the Niger Delta part of Nigeria has gotten married to a woman old enough to be his biological mother in Europe. 14. A Nigerian player who is aiming to play for the Super Eagles, Tosin Kehinde believes he is edging closer to a senior Manchester United debut. The 19-year-old footballer is a regular for the Under-23 side under Ricky Sbragia, and has trained with the first-team under the watchful eye of manager Jose Mourinho. Kehinde was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and there is keen interest back in his homeland about when the midfielder will make the step up. He revealed he has not been far away from a first inclusion in a matchday squad and insists that if he continues working hard he will get the chance he craves at Old Trafford. “It feels good to have that kind of support back home,” he told Soccer Assembly. “I’ve come close on occasion. All I need to do is continue to work hard.” Kehinde is eligible to play for either Nigeria or England at international level. But his heart lies with the Super Eagles, who have qualified for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
  15. Manchester United have reportedly told Real Madrid they would have to cough up £88million if they want David De Gea in the summer. According to Marca, United hope placing a huge price on the 27-year-old, would discourage Real from trying to sign him. De Gea reminded La Liga suitors just what he is capable of, with his wonder save against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The Spanish goalkeeper was set to move to Real for £35m in the summer of 2015, only to see the move collapse in the final seconds of the window. But if the move is going to happen again, it would cost Real €100m (£88m). It is understood that De Gea's value has come straight from the Glazer family, who will refuse to accept anything less.
  16. Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola said he would like Paul Pogba to play in next week’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford. Guardiola also said he does not believe the France midfielder wants Manchester City players to be struck down by injury. Pogba got a three-match ban for treading on Hector Bellerin during Saturday’s pulsating 3-1 win at Arsenal. He becomes a significant blow for Jose Mourinho with City next on the agenda in the Premier League. City restored their eight-point lead over Mourinho’s men at the summit on Sunday when David Silva’s 83rd-minute volley sealed a 2-1 win over West Ham. Pogba had earlier told the BBC’s Football Focus he hoped Manchester City would “get some very important players injured.” Speaking after the West Ham win, Guardiola said, “Did he say that? Hopefully we don’t have injuries. “I would like it if Paul could play against us because I like to face the teams with the best players possible to see if we are able to beat them. “In the end, I think it was an expression. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want other players to get injured.
