It was gathered that the latest killing happened yesterday in Awka, the state capital, as about six (6) person were said to have been killed in total at the Amikwo part of the inner city, mostly inhabited by locals and tenants. The residents are calling on the state government to step up the security situation and prevent further killings by the warring groups. Last year, over ten person were shot dead during a bloodbath in Obosi,Idemili North local Government Area of Anambra state when two prominent cult groups in the area, Vikings and Aiye confraternities, clashed. Two pregnant women were shot, and scores of persons robbed in the course of the fight.a

It was gathered that the female native doctor came for special prayers at Isuofia town in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, with fetish items. The villagers apprehended the woman and asked her what she came to do as she claimed she came for prayers at a family house in the area. When her bag was searched, cowries, red candle, and other fetish items were found in her possession as the villagers questioned her on the kind of prayers she came to perform. After much interrogation by the villagers, the woman admitted that she’s a native doctor and also has a license for her practice. The villagers warned her and the aide not to enter the village again under the guise of conducting spiritual deliverance. Watch Video..
MediaTek posted a topic in People and NationsA family quarrel has escalated into serious panic in Ozubulu area of Anambra state. It was gathered that some security men of OVS (Ozubulu vigilante service) allegedly killed a man following a family problem. According to the reports, two brothers were having a misunderstanding on Wednesday, January 23rd, but were later reconciled by their kinsmen. Then by 2 am the next day, the vigilante operatives landed at the compound of the deceased who was a student of the Nigerian army school in Kaduna but just returned home for a visit. It was gathered that the OVS was called into the family dispute and one of them allegedly shot the victim three times as he reportedly died on his way to the hospital. The angry youths set the security vehicles on fire at the office of the OVS. The houses of some of the members of the OVS were also set on fire which could be seen from the neighboring village. MediaTek posted a topic in People and NationsA middle-aged man simply identified as Ifeanyi escaped being lynched by the whiskers yesterday after allegedly being caught stealing ladies pants at a student residential quarters at Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. It was gathered that the suspect who hails from Umuneke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State confessed that he had already stolen over 58 women pants before luck ran out on him as he was caught red-handed by a woman in the early hours of that Wednesday. A witness to the melodrama said that Ifeanyi had broken into the house around 2 am and headed straight to the rope where some pants were hung and was harvesting the underwears when the unidentified woman who came out to urinate saw him and raised alarm. “The woman raised an alarm and he was caught; his cloth tore as he was beaten mercilessly by an angry mob,” the source told our reporter at the popular Nkwo Mgbakwu market, where the suspect lay gasping for breath after the intense beating. It was learnt that the suspect was once caught in the act at one white colour painted storey building where both students and non-students live at Amaezike village in Mgbakwu. Ifeanyi had earlier confessed that he had been in the business of stealing ladies pants, washed and spread by the owners at their respective homes and that he usually sold them to a man known as Emeka Ofor at the rate of N500. “I steal them (pants) from women hostels. I used to sell them to Emeka Ofor, who also hails from Umuneke Udi LGA at the rate of N500 per piece,” he confessed. The suspect claimed he dropped out of school at the Senior Secondary school (SSII) because of mental health challenges, but however blamed his travails on the devil and promised never to steal women pants anymore. He equally urged youths still in the business of stealing ladies pants or other criminal activities to repent and give their lives to Christ. It was gathered that after making a passionate appeal for clemency, the suspect was later forgiven by the mob and allowed to walk away. A source later confided that he later fled the area at night after being handed a shirt and shot.
