  1. For allegedly having anal sex with two boys, a 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Lawal, has been remanded in the Katsina prison till April 30, 2018. According to Punchng, Lawal, who operates a commercial grinding machine at Sarkin Zango Quarters, Bakori, Katsina, allegedly sexually assaulted the two boys on several occasions before he was reported to the police on March 28, 2018, by their parents. . The police told a Katsina State Senior Magistrates’ Court on Friday that the accused on several occasions lured the two boys into his shop and had ‘carnal knowledge of them through the anus’. . According to the police, Lawal thereafter threatened to kill his victims should they tell anyone about the act. The accused was charged with ‘unnatural offense and criminal intimidation.’
  2. A policewoman has landed in trouble and is said to be facing jail time for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old boy while working as a teaching assistant. Maria Velez, 25, was said to have had sex multiple times with the underage pupil for almost a year. But the wannabe FBI agent avoided trial in Cleveland, Ohio, US, in a plea deal with prosecutors, yesterday. The most serious charges of sexual battery were reduced as she pleaded guilty to attempted felonious assault, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and attempted tampering with evidence. She could be locked up for up to nine years when Judge Brendan Sheehan sentences her on May 21. Velez agreed to resign from the police and must register as a sex offender every six months for 25 years. She became a cop after quitting her job at Clark Elementary School in December, 2015. The perv cop had a sexual relationship with the student during the previous nine months, said, prosecutors. She was suspended without pay after the scandal broke last September when the boy and his mum went to police. Velez later called the two and told them to lie to hide the relationship, prosecutor Matthew Meyer told yesterday’s hearing. She was assigned to patrols in Cleveland’s Fifth District before her arrest. It has not been disclosed where Velez’s trysts with the lad took place.   3. A Japanese police officer was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting a colleague dead, a rare fatal gun crime in a country where weapons are strictly regulated. The 19-year-old suspect, who has not been named, reportedly told authorities he shot Akira Imoto after being verbally bullied by him. Imoto, 41, was found dead inside a police office in western Japan’s Hikone in the Shiga region on Wednesday evening, a police spokesman told AFP. Authorities realised that the dead man’s colleague was missing and began searching for him. “At about 1:35 am (1635 GMT), police found the 19-year-old and arrested him on suspicion of murder,” the spokesman said. A police car that had run off the road was found near the scene of the crime, the spokesman added, with local media reporting the suspect had tried to escape in the car. The suspect told investigators he shot Imoto because he had been bullied by his colleague, public broadcaster NHK reported, citing unnamed police sources. “That a police officer committed a murder using a gun that we provided to him is extremely regrettable, and we deeply apologise to the public,” a senior local police officer said with a deep bow Thursday morning in front of TV cameras. Japan has famously strict gun control regulations and very little gun crime. In 2015, just eight gun crimes were reported nationwide.

One Emmanuel Titus Udo, male, from Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has been arrested by security operatives and arraigned in court for defaming and maligning the member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Michael Enyong. Emmanuel Udo was arrested through the joint effort of the Department of State Services (DSS), the National Intelligence Agency(NIA) and the police. Arraigned before Akwa Ibom magistrate court in Uyo on Monday, April 9, 2018, in a suit titled COMMISSIONER OF POLICE VS EMMANUEL TITUS UDO, the accused (Emmanuel Udo) was slammed with a one count charge of defamation of character. The defense counsel, Barr. Honesty Akpanam, prayed that the accused be granted bail on lenient terms. Udo was granted bail in the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira(N500, 000.00) with one surety in like sum who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court. Emmanuel Udo had operated a fake Facebook account with name Emem Etina and claimed that Hon. Michael Enyong impregnated one Regina Christopher of Itiam Etoi in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. For many weeks, Emmanuel Udo used the fake Facebook account , with fake profile picture of the fictitious Emem Etina, to defame, malign and blackmail Hon. Michael Enyong claiming the federal lawmaker impregnated a non-existing Regina Christopher of Itiam Etoi. He generated and shared the false pregnancy story against Michael Enyong to unsuspecting members of the public. Concerning the pregnancy story, Investigations revealed that Emmanuel Udo lifted from the website of World Health Organization ( WHO ) picture of a pregnant woman by name Esther Sabouangis , a Cameroonian from Yaoundé receiving preventive malaria Medicine during Pregnancy and posted the picture on the fake Facebook claiming it was that of Regina Christopher of Itiam Etoi whom he falsely said was impregnated by Hon Enyong.
  5. One Emmanuel Udo has been arraigned by the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, for defaming a House of Representatives member, Dr. Michael Enyong. Udo was arrested through the joint effort of the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, and the Police. He was arraigned before Akwa Ibom Magistrates’ Court on one count of defamation of character and granted bail in the sum of N500,000. It was gathered that Udo had operated a fake Facebook account with the name Emem Etina and claimed that Enyong impregnated a non-existing Regina Christopher. He had stolen a photo of a pregnant Cameroonian woman, Esther Sabouangis who was receiving a preventive malaria medicine, from the WHO’s website and claimed that the photograph was that of Regina Christopher, whom he falsely said was impregnated by Enyong.

The suspects Chukwudi Ezeala ‘m’ aka ‘infinity’ 33yrs of age of Umuodu Umukabia in Ehime Mbano L.G.A. and Chizoba Ihedioha ‘m’ aka ‘Sunlight’ 25yrs of age of Mgbakam Okohia Obowo L.G.A. in company of two others now at large on 17/02/2018 robbed and murdered one Jude Emeka Onye ‘m’ who just returned from Spain. The victim and others were drinking at a joint along Amainyi Obowo when the hoodlums struck and robbed them of their GSM handsets and other valuables and in the process killed the victim. One Highlander Jeep without a registration number and one Toyota Corolla with Reg. No. WER729 LC suspected to have been stolen were recovered from them. The suspects have confessed to the crime and will soon appear in court. Serious efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang. Combined Operatives of Operation Lafiya Dole and the Department of State Service conducting Counter Terrorism Operations in north eastern Nigeria have arrested a Boko Haram terrorist who specializes in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) for the terrorists group. Adamu Hassan aka Baale was nabbed by the operatives at Kaltungo in Gombe State during a Stop and Search Operation along Bauchi – Gombe road. In a separate operation, troops of operation Lafiya Dole in a joint operation with Vigilantes on Monday evening busted a raid operation by elements of the Boko Haram terrorists rummaging for food and logistics at Kudiye community, along Dikwa – Gulumbagana Road. The four man raid team was intercepted by troops following a tip- off that the insurgents were on their way to loot the community. The insurgents who revealed that they belong to the Abubakar Shekau faction of the Boko Haram terrorists group have been taken into custody and are making useful confessions. Troops also recovered two motorcycles, bags of grains and tamarin from the insurgents. Meanwhile, troops conducting clearance operations yesterday killed three Boko Haram insurgents in two separate encounters in the mountainous region of Bokko Hilde, along Ngoshe – Pulka road and Mujigine general area respectively. The troops neutralized the insurgents during clearance operations to rid the areas of elements of the Boko Haram insurgents who had escaped from troops’ offensive operations in the Sambisa forest. Troops also recovered two AK 47 rifles and a motorcycle from the insurgents. It is expedient to bring to public awareness, that in its desperation to survive troops’ onslaught and remain relevant in the eyes of the public, the Boko Haram terrorists group has continued to make frantic efforts to infiltrate communities with Person-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (Suicide bombers) to callously unleash terror and fear on the populace. Members of the public are therefore enjoined to remain vigilant and watchful while going about their normal activities and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to appropriate security agencies.

According to an online report, this man parked his car wrongly and when a parking attendant looked inside yesterday morning, he saw the man and two female companions deep asleep and a pistol placed between the passenger’s and the driver’s seats. Local residents alerted the police, who secured the area and gained access to the car before securing the pistol. When he arose from the slumber he tried to reach his pistol in vain.   9. An alarm has been raised after a Nigerian man was arrested forcefully and brutally by metropolitan police officers in South Africa over his driver’s license. According to reports, the Nigerian man was stopped by the police officers while driving and it was discovered he had no driver’s license. In the process of his forceful arrest, the Nigerian man was allegedly stripped Nakked as he was tried to be bundled into their vehicle.   10. The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Wednesday, said the Federal Government was worried about the low number of candidates seeking admission into its 104 colleges across the country, who registered for the 2018 National Common Entrance Examination. The minister, in a statement released in Abuja by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Mrs Priscillia Ihuoma, noted that only 28 candidates from Zamfara State registered for the examination. Pleading with state governments, heads of schools and interest groups to persuade school-age children in the areas with low registration to register for the examination, he said that a directive had been given to leave the portal open for registration until April 13. Adamu said the report of a stakeholders’ meeting held recently indicated that Taraba, Kebbi and Zamfara states had the lowest number of candidates who registered for the entrance examination. While Taraba had 95 candidates, Kebbi had 50. The release read in part, “Ahead of the 2018 National Common Entrance Examination for admission of candidates into the 104 Federal Government colleges on Saturday, April 14, the minister has expressed worry over low registration for the examination so far. “According to him, the report of a meeting of major stakeholders in the education sector said candidates registered in 2018 stood at 71,294 as against 80,421 that wrote the examination in 2017. “The report further shows three states with the highest number of pupils registered so far are: Lagos with 24,465 candidates, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with 7,699 and Rivers State with 4,810 candidates respectively. On the other hand, three states with extreme low registration are: Zamfara with only 28 candidates, Kebbi, 50 and Taraba, 95 candidates respectively.” The minister said the examination would go on as planned and urged state governments, parents, heads of schools and relevant interest groups in areas to take steps to remedy the situation.

The Cross River State Police command has paraded seventy-eight persons suspected to have committed various crimes in the state, among them a 48- year old Pastor who defiled his twelve-year-old housemaid. According to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, Pastor Dominic Udo John forcefully defiled his house 12-year-old house maid, Enobong John Etim and following the victim’s cry for help, the Police arrested him. Inuwa, who also paraded seventy seven other suspected criminals and cultists, told Journalists during a press briefing in Calabar on Wednesday that John, who lives at Ikot Ekpo, near 8th miles, has admitted to committing the crime. His words:”On 11th March, 2018, at about 2200hrs, one Pastor Dominic Udo John (48) of Ikot Ekpo, 8th miles Calabar was arrested for forcefully defiling his 12yrs old housemaid, Enobong John Etim. Following the victim’s outcry, the suspect was arrested and admitted to committing the crime. “Meanwhile, the medical examination has been carried out by a qualified medical practitioner to ascertain the health status of the girl, the suspect will be charged to court.” Similarly, the Police also paraded twenty-five-year-old Michael Emmanuel Okon of No. 2 Ikot Effa street, Calabar for defiling nine-year-old Destiny Uduak Sunday after dragging her into his living room.   12. A Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2, student, Atoo Aondoana, has been held by the Police in Benue State for his alleged involvement in armed robbery along Makurdi-Alaide highway of the state. Aondoana alongside his accomplice, an elderly cleaner who worka with the Nigeria Airforce in Makurdi, Peter Aghande, who is being held for supplying the military uniforms used for the robbery are currently helping the police with further information about their illegal activities. State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, yesterday paraded the duo alongside 29 other suspects of armed robbery and cultism at the Police headquarters in Makurdi.Owoseni said that the suspects were arrested from various locations of the state between March 28 and April 3 for crimes mainly bordered on armed robbery and cultism. He said one of the robbers whose gang specialised in robbing people along Makurdi-Lafia road was killed in the process as he engaged the police patrol team in a gun battle while the likes of Aondoana was apprehended in military uniform supplied by Aghande.The police commissioner added that 13 different types of weapons were recovered from all the arrested suspects including sub-machine guns and one motor vehicle. Speaking to Daily Trust in an interview, the 18-year-old suspected robber in military uniform who lives with his father at the Ikpayongo village in Gwer West local government area, near Makurdi admitted to the crime, explaining that he bought the military uniform from someone. “We carry hunting guns for operation but I was not arrested with a gun. I had no weapon on me during my arrest. I’m a secondary school student in JSS2 at Ikpayongo. My father is a farmer and I’m the only child of my mother who is now married to another man in Makurdi,” he narrated.Aondoana said he feels bad about his ill behaviour, stressing that a friend introduced him to the robbery gang. On his part, the cleaner, Aghande, who brandished his identity card as a cleaner with the Nigerian Airforce, claimed that the Airforce personnel use to give him bad clothes (uniforms) to throw away and the boy (suspect) begged him to give them to him rather than disposing them. “But, I was shocked by the following day when I heard that the boy went to rob with it,” Aghande said.
  13. The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has arrested one Chinyere Blessing, from Enugu state who uses rented children to beg for money. According to reports, on Thursday, the attention of the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs was drawn to a woman at Ring Road in the centre of Benin City, who is in the habit of using what she claimed to be her children, a set of a triplet, to beg for money. Immediately, she was arrested and brought to the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and upon searching her, a total of ₦104,240 was recovered from her. Upon further investigation by the police of Family Unit, State CID, and after obtaining a full confession from the ringleader, the real mothers of two of the children were found and arrested at their hotel room in Benin City. They all have confessed to the crime and admitted to this being their fourth trip to Benin for their illicit business.
  14. One of the Boko Haram suspects in white shirt is No.5 on the Nigerian Army wanted list and three other suspected members of the group have been arrested by troops of Operation Lafiya Dole. The vehicle conveying the suspect and three members of the civilian vigilante (Civilian Joint Task Force), were intercepted by troops on Thursday 29th March 2018 at the Forward Operations Base along Kano – Azare road, in Bauchi State. On interrogation, the Civilian Joint Task Force members claimed to have arrested the suspects in Lagos and he is taking them to Department of State Service (DSS) office in Maiduguri for further investigations. Efforts are being made to contact DSS office in Maiduguri for possible confirmation of the Civilian Joint Task Force claims. Meanwhile, troops has intensify search on the major highway to deny and arrest any fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.
  15. A 25-year old lady, Esther Alluya who allegedly tricked and defrauded a man, Mr. Emmanuel Ukpebor to the tune of N5m has been arrested by the police in Lagos. The incident happened at Yusuf Bishi Street Agodo Egbe where the transaction reportedly took place. Ukpebor was still surprised how Esther managed to trick and obtained such amount of money from him for an undisclosed business transaction. It was gathered that what made the transaction suspicious was the way the suspect cut communication as soon as she got the money from Ukpebor. She bolted away and disconnected every communication link between her and the victim. The matter was reported to the police at X-Squad Ikeja Command who trailed and arrested her. When the police asked her about the money, she said he had already spent the money and will not be able to refund it. Esther was charged to court thereafter and brouhht before the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka for the alleged offence. She pleaded not guilty. She was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. However, she was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition. The matter could not go on because of the recent transfer of Magistrates in the judiciary which had affected Mrs. Layinka who was in charge of the matter. The matter was therefore adjourned till a later date when the new Magistrate fully resumes at Court 3 Ikeja, Lagos.
  16. According to online reports, a group of male students were apprehended after sneaking into a hostel in a girls’ boarding school. The five boys from St. Mary’s Kibabii boys high school in Bungoma, Kenya – were arrested in the girls’ school dormitory last night. It was reported that the boys had been in the school since Saturday. They were arrested and tied up by security operatives who stormed the area after being notified. Meanwhile, the school administration has confirmed that four more boys are still missing as the investigation into the matter begins.

The State Chairman of the Keke Napep Alh Terab & other Leaders assured the citizens of the state to bring an end to the criminals within the tricycles groups.

A mobile policeman guarding an oil facility operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company has been arrested after reportedly killing a soldier in Odimodi community, in the Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday during a misunderstanding between the two men. The policeman was said to be on duty with the soldier at an oil facility operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company. Witnesses had reported that the two security men engaged in a fierce exchange of words while other members of the security team were said to have gone on a patrol of oil facilities in the area at the time. It was gathered that the heated argument was followed by multiple gunshots a few minutes later. According to reports, the policeman, after killing the victim, shot continuously into the air to scare away residents before absconding with the victim’s rifle.   19. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, 20 March, 2018, arraigned Leeroy Egebe, (alias Amedeo Dante William, Alhassan Davide) before Justice E. A. Obile of the Federal High Court, sitting in Warri, Delta State on an 8-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $18,023.96 (Eigteen Thousand, Twenty- Three Hundred Dollars, Ninety- Six Cent. Egebe’s troubles began when one Vivian Varotto-Guigoz, a citizen of Switzerland, petitoned the EFCC alleging that she met one Amedeo William Dante (the defendant) who claimed to be an Italian living in the United Kingdom on a social dating site called “Badoo”. They became lovers, exchanging emotions and later cash. She alleged that on several occasions, between 12 May and 14 October, 2015, she wired a total sum of CHF 196,701,44 and EUR 15, 957.43 to different individuals in the United Kingdom, Canada and Nigeria at the request of Dante, for sundry reasons which she later discovered to be fraudulent. The payments were allegedly made in five installments: two into British accounts belonging to Amedeo William Dante and Dittimi Tamara-Finide while three were made into Nigerian accounts belonging to Alhassan Davide and Edin Obaro. The petitioner also alleged that the defendant was reaching her through some English, Canadian and Nigerian telephone numbers. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him. In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, M. T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial. However, counsel to the defendant, K. D Alufe, made an 0ral application for bail for his client. He argued that the alleged offences were bailable and that the defendant did not jump an earlier administrative bail by the prosecution.. In his ruling, Justice Obile granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3, 000,000.00 (Three Million Naira), one surety in like sum. The surety must be a public servant in the service of Federal or Delta state government on grade level 12 and above. The defendant and the surety must depose to an affidavit of means amog other conditions. The matter was adjourned to 10 May, 2018 for trial, while the defendant was remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of his bail conditions.

Troops of Mobile Strike Team II deployed in Kaduna arrested a notorious gun runner and recovered 2 AK 47 assault rifles with 38 rounds of 7.62mm special while on clearance operation at suspected armed bandits hideout in Rigachikun general area of Kaduna State on 19 March 2018. Due to criminal activities taking place at the Rigachikun forest and environ the Army placed high surveillance in the general area to deny criminal freedom of operation. The success recorded so far is a proactive measures taking by the Army to dominate the general area and fish out criminals that are carrying out kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling.

Nigeria secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of one Jonah Abbey aka Jonah IDI which it described as a notorious gunrunner alongside his driver, Agyo Saviour aka Dan-Wase. . DSSS, in a statement released on Sunday, said ABBEY has been on its wanted list for the last 10 years over arms and ammunition trade before his arrest on March 13, 2018 in Wukari town in Wukari LGA, Taraba State. . The Service said the gunrunner have been supplying weapons to criminal groups in Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Rivers, Imo, Anambra, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Benue/Taraba axis, including the notorious criminal syndicate led by Terwase AKWAZA aka Ghana in Benue State. DSS added that recent intelligence indicated that Abbey moved arms and ammunition from Konduga in Borno State into Taraba State through his driver, SAVIOUR.. “It may be noted that subject has entrenched his criminal activities in different parts of the country. Indications are that he sources arms from the Republic of Cameroon and parts of the North-East of Nigeria,” DSS said.

Two Men Arrested After Stealing From God The Police Command in Cross River has paraded two male suspected armed robbers for stealing a 500 KVA generator and a Yamaha keyboard from a Pentecostal Church in Calabar. Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, the Commissioner of Police in the state, explained that they broke into the church on Feb. 22 at 165 Parliamentary Road in Calabar to steal the items. Inuwa alleged that the suspects, Francis Boniface and Godwin Effiong also stole other valuables from the church.

Delta State big boy wanted for robbery in Ghana, arrested The Ghanaian police arrested Kesiena Blessing Kagi, alias KessBillions, 21, at his hideout at Community 20 in Tema on Friday, March 9, 2018. KessBillions, as he was popularly known among his fellow criminals, was on the police wanted list for the robbery of a forex bureau at Teshie on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. KessBillions was also said to have led a gang of robbers to attack a company at Community Nine Light Industrial Area, Tema. The IGP said other suspects in the forex bureaux robbery gang — Prince Wanganga, Gift Wanganga, alias Festus; John Ani, Prince Yfuah, and Okoro Amulley — had been arrested earlier. He said KessBillions and the other five suspects were all Nigerians. He said a check on KessBillions’s passport, number A07598838, revealed that he was a native of Warri.
